New Shop idea and Art work that goes along

Sorry for the long first post. ^^;; If you only want to see the artwork it'll be at the bottom.
Some of you have probably seen me advertise this on my freebie forum, which Xilicia 'won', and now I'd like your opinion.
I'm currently working on the next three stages of Xilicia's child and will post the finished piece here on this board. (Of course she'll get a comment with the image as well)
Comments and suggestions for both my shop idea and for the art work are appreciated. :3
Idea The idea is that I will create a child either by two parents, one parent and another parent which the buyer doesn't know, or by adoption where the buyer only gets to choose the gender. They will receive an Infant stage and a Toddler stage by default, then they choose the next two stages. Here is what I have written up for it:
<p>Adoption : Adopiton is basically artist&;s license. You&;re allowing me to create a child for you with limited information.
Gender: (The gender of the child, you do not have to choose, but you have the choice)
Don&;t want: (what you do not want on your child.)</p>
<p>Natural Birth: You give us two parents. This couple does not have to be hetero at all, any couple will do. I will then use the parents genes to create your offspring. A little more information is needed for this.
Parent 1:
Species: What are they
Special Qualities: Qualities that might be passed on to a child. (Powers, blue skin, mutations, freckles etc)
Hair: Color of hair and texture
Eyes: Color of eyes and shape
Refs: links to parent 1</p>
<p>Parent 2:
Species: What are they
Special Qualities: Qualities that might be passed on to a child. (Powers, blue skin, mutations, freckles etc)
Hair: Color of hair and texture
Eyes: Color of eyes and shape
Refs: links to parent 2</p>
<p>Sperm/Egg Bank: This is an option for those of you who only have one parent. Sorry but cloning is prohibited.
Parent 1:
Species: What are they?

Xilicia elected to do Natural Birth which is where the child is created by two parents of her choosing. They are Destiny and Chris
Infant
Toddler (think three)
Their precious little girl is growing before their eyes. She's full of energy and spunk and ready to show off her guns like her daddy.

Reina has truly grown to love the art of combat just as her parents have. Looks like she has yet agian won another spar with one of her sibling, be it her own strength or them giving her a handicap, she is still thrilled.

Young Adult (second stage Xilicia chose)
A teenager has grown to an adult and it seems the amount of skin showing has as well.

this is such a great idea, with amazing artwork to boot! i'm sure it will be successful with all the oc couples around. do you think you'd work from RL couples as well, because i'm sure that would be a good market too.

I think it's a fantastic idea. you're actually really good at drawing infants; you got the weird big-head-little-body thing down pat!
I'm pretty good at getting people's likeness, I like to do realistic cartoons of my friends and they come out decent. I don't want to get people's hopes up of what their real baby might look like so I'd stay towards the illustrative look but I think I could do that. If I did use real couples I'd have to demand proper images of what their faces look like. xD
This is a wonderful idea. I was expecting something good from this but it exceeded anything I imagined. I am so excited to see more!

Oh now this is a really cool idea and I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses, and if you do any more of these in the future as commissions or anything I'd certainly like to try for one. :) Normally children (and drawings of children) tend to creep me out, they're just so strange and all, but your's a very nice and don't seem forced or unnatural at all, they look very nice.
On the information you request about the parents, you list 'species' and this simply has me curious, does that mean you also would try to do these with quads or anthros? Or is it more of a 'species that ought to still look mostly-humanoid' sort of thing?
I am willing to do Quad and Anthro children. I'm not typically a quad artist (or fully anthro) but one has to step out of their boundaries before they can grow, right? As long as the commissioner knows that I'm not particularly the best at animals then I think all will be well.
Edit: Species can be very interesting and depending on the species the child might be more pron to look like that parent. I am intrigued to know what different types of characters people have.
Different species could be very interesting with this. There are some that you just have to wonder what the children would look like Now we can know XD

The last stage has been posted up. I'm thinking of holding an auction... Gotta debate over that or a temporary shop. HMMM

I suggest have guest artist sessions several times a year. It would ease the workload and have more participants. ❤️

Double Trouble. I worked there for like one month before Gaia decided to not load on my computer. I'm sure it works now but yeah I'm not a gaia person anymore. xD
I absolutely love this idea of getting a surprise baby and watching it grow. Thrills me.
That would be a great idea but I don't know any artist willing to do that and I don't want to bug them about it either. @
