what do you mean? Like people who are only your friend cause they get something from it...
-Tabbyzrule:)
If I'm correct in what the OP is referring to, FWB is a term generally used to refer to friends who engage in sexual activity with one another, but are not an item and are free to see other people.
Personally, even though it's not for me, I've got no problem with it as long as both parties involved are clear as far as expectations and whatnot.
While I'd never consider it, I see nothing wrong with it. If the people involved can be smart about it and understand what one another want from it, I don't see anything bad about it.
I see nothing wrong. It just depends on if both parties understand that there will become nothing deeper from it.
If it works for you, I guess that's fine.
I personally would never be okay with that.
Mild necromancy ?
I have one. It works out well. We weer supposed to get together in April but plans never materialized. We'll see. And we both completely have the same outlook. We desire each other but have NO interest in a long term actual relationship.
collecting As long as both parties know what the hell they are doing and are aware of the consequences, I'd be willing to look the other way. I personally don't approve of friends with benefits but then again you're talking to someone who still has his V-card.
Here's the way I see it: it's pretty much sex without any emotion other than satisfying one's own craving. And don't get me wrong, sex is a normal part of life. Almost all people must crave it one way or another and we all have different forms of release. I just think that there are better forms of release though; I have my own method.
With that said and done, if two people want to to have no-strings-attached sex, then that's up to them. Still though, there are a lot of indirect consequences as a result, such as mixed feelings toward one another.
I had one once, and it didn't really work out. I got feelings for him, he started treating me bad (probably because I had feelings) and well yeah. We're not friends anymore at all :p
But I don't see anything wrong in it, when both parties agree on what the limits are.
Well, it went great and successfully for about a year, then he developed feelings for me and that kind of led to, well we dated for a couple months, it didn't work out. Now, more than a year after that, we're together again and he's moving in with me. Sometimes good things can come from seeming disasters.
I'm not emotionally equipped to handle friends with benefits at the moment, but I don't think it's a bad thing, and maybe later things will change; I don't know.

its lame. lame. lame. lame.
UNLESS YOUR JUST LOOKIN' FOR A FB.
friends w/ benefits ultimately ruins the friendship, or just makes it plain awkward. if you like that person enough to hook up or whatever, just consider dating. and if for some reason they cant date, then wait a bit till they can or find someone else.
It's definitely not for me. For me, there must be love and I must love the person deeply before engaging in any sexual acts with them. It just wouldn't feel right to do sexual things with someone I have absolutely no feelings for.
Yeah, the way I see this, it looks like FWB need a better method of sexual release. A lot of side-effects result from having sex, not just physical ones (STDs, pregnancy, etc.) but also emotional ones. What if it gets too deep and you find yourself attracted to someone else? Guess what, you already have a FB.
The translation of FWB where I am is horny teenagers wanting to get some. I knew two and it didn't work out well; he turned out to be a total douche bag who no one likes. She hasn't been seen since. Yeah, due to past observations, you all know why I don't approve of this for myself.
To each their own.
I won't do it, but if someone else wants to, whatever. =/
I am FWB with my ex right now. Best shit ever.
I think it's kind of stupid, tbh. :|
You're having sex with someone you don't truly love, which is basically the definition of a whore/slut/whatever.
I've never really liked labels like "slut". One's sex life is no one's business but their own and, in my opinion, they shouldn't be judged for it.
Anyway, that thought aside, I don't think that having a FWB or FB makes someone a whore (since, technically, a whore is paid for sexual activity), nor does it make them a slut (since, at least where I grew up, a slut is fairly indiscriminate in choosing his or her partners, or someone who has sex for ulterior motives, whether it's to boost their self-esteem or to gain "prestige"). Having a FWB or FB just means that you have a slightly more liberal view of sex than others might.
