Imo, no. Unless you know you'll be getting profit, I wouldn't do them.

no, unless it's likely you'll make a profit over the next few quests, i wouldn't do it. for example, if i was on a 100k quest, and he asked me for a 200k item, i'd buy it, because i'd probably make the sp i lost over the next few quests.

in your case, the 500k item seems too much, in my opinion.

i already did it.. and it definately wasn't worth it. i got another item after that then he asked me for an 8 million item. ):
