ive listened to evanescence, murderdolls, emilie autumn, nightwish, cradle of filth, spectrum-x, rammstein, HIM, the birthday massacre and loads of others. are there any i should try?

Mastodon is one of the last remaining good heavy metal bands, at least in my opinion. Considering I'm not really a metal fan.

Yeah, I was trying to pull out a metaly band from my list based on the bands you like. Oh, there's also Dethklok if you don't already know them. They're from a cartoon that they play on Adult Swim called Metalocalypse. I suggest them as well, they're pretty funny.
