Argg, I hate that. Happens to me all the time. I was trying to buy a 500k token yesterday and it did that, and ended up buy a 1.1M one. That was all my money too. D:

Oh I know the feeling, I have done that a couple times when my browser jumped the page up or my hand slipped the mouse to fast. Ended up buying both just because it torqued me.

I get that shit all the time. On my main computer, the shop search always leaves a bank space between the item search and the item results, that doesn't disappear until everything finished loading. It's about the size of a banner.
So when i click the top result, and it disappears, I generally accidentally clickt he result 7 spots lower. This doesn't matter if I am buying a Slots Spork, but it sucks with the more expensive items.
