Reading to other people. Public or private. Have you ever done it? Enjoy it? I've just been thinking about it the past couple of days.

I use paltalk, a voice chat, and I dunno. Lately it's getting harder and harder for me to find a room I like. When I do, I'm kind of sheepish on the mic. I'm not really that comfortable with voice chat yet. It's stupid to be afraid of people like that. I'm not that way in person. Only on the phone and, apparently, voice. I just get a little nervous and then freeze up and just let everyone else talk.

I'd heard other people say they were the same way, but they got over it going into paltalk's karaoke rooms. Makes sense. Buuut. I don't sing. I do read though. I've never really read to other people though. I like to read aloud when there isn't anyone home though. It just makes whatever you're reading a little more real to say it out loud.

Now, Paltalk hasn't got any rooms for spoken word. There's a category marked "Books" under "Arts & Entertainment", but I've never seen a room open in it. I'm thinking I might do it.

But do you think anyone would wanna come and read with me? I mean like taking turns. Someone reads a short story or a little poetry and the next person reads something and we just go down the line.

I hated reading aloud. I had to do it in school all through elementary and high school and i loathed it....we had to read boring literature...the only thing i liked was the poem reading. Now, i just silent read unless there is something just too funny or interesting I HAVE to share it. That is all.

Mmm, I hated it in school too. It wasn't even just that they made you read -dull- things it was that they loved to call on people with minimal reading skills. The ones who'd pause and have to think about every other word.

I don't like to read out loud. I read slow out loud, faster when I read to myself. Is this voice thingy like talking in a mic on yahoo and msn?

I hate reading aloud. It makes me all nervous and I read better silently

i've done it several times but I hate it because it's much slower and I find that when I read out loud I stumble over words whereas in my head I am very fluent even if I'm kinda slow.:*
