I am failing to see the purpose of this forum. More than half of the boards are going to be locked sooner or later. It's constantly filled with price checks of new items that are bound to be priced. It just seems like more work for the minimods to go and lock the boards because most of the time it's going to get priced. More importantly, players seem to ask prices of items that's already priced. Why do we have that forum again?

Oh, can we also have a thread again for the brags/complaints of vending? :P

I agree; I think there should be a stickied thread in the help forums for item pricing. :P That's just me, though.

Stickied thread actually sounds like a good idea! Though, since it's other players pricing it, I don't think I can trust some of the answers given. :S I can somehow imagine a scenario of someone pricing a shinigami for like 250m.

I have a different complaint:

Why can't we discuss items that are priced, but are obviously inflated??

Usually people post asking about the real value of something, and the board gets locked because it's priced in shop search for 45mil.

I feel the same way about the art pricing forum. not only do these two forums get very little traffic, but the threads get locked/moved so easily. :S For the pricing forum I personally think it should be allowed to ask for reasonable prices for already priced items (although I can see how that could get out of hand) and just allow artists to ask for prices in the general art discussion forum. that's just imo though.

Wait, you mean users pulling prices of out their asses is a bad idea?!

I agree with this 100%! Maybe even 110% with the vending thread.

I was going to say the same thing, about the obviously inflated 45m common item. Why can't we discuss that, and find out what a normal, SANE price would be?

And- I know sometimes stuff is glitched for people, and won't show up in shop search, and they'll post, and then someone will post a list of them with the prices :P Happened to me once or twice.

But most of the time with unpriced items, people just come along and tell you to price it at anything anyway, just pick a price out of your head and stick it on and hope it sells :/ Not very useful, IMO.

Oh item pricing, how I love you. XD

I'm assuming the reason users can't discuss inflated items is because that gets into a grey zone. It makes our job a lot harder if we have to determine whether or not the item is truly inflated, or if this person just hopes it is, or if it's not really inflated at all and they're just trying to get around the rules. :S Unfortunately that's the way it goes with a lot of rules around the site, because shades of grey don't work out too well in these kinds of scenarios.

Sadly, 3/4 of the threads in item pricing are always locked because of this. XD Cath and I have had conversations about this forum with a few of the higher ups, but no resolution so far. Hopefully we can work towards fixing this up, since I agree it's a bit of a mess!

I get that it's difficult to determine whether an item is inflated or not.

But if the prices of ALL items were allowed to be discussed, then it wouldn't be necessary to determine whether an item's really inflated.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see why reasonably priced items can't also be discussed.

Therefore I think we should be able to discuss the price of any item in the Item Pricing forum. We already do so to some extent in B&C, for example, with the "omg why are GAs/tokens/etc. are so expensive" boards every two weeks.

If I remember correcting, Item pricing used to be a subforum of help- and it was generally neglected.
