My schedule for shit is finally tapering off which means WHOO TIME FOR DRAWING and then I sit down today after doing homework to sketch something and
I couldn't make anything even passable come out it was so strange it's like all of a sudden I have a crippling art block.
IT'S MAKING ME RAGE SO MUCH so that segways into my main question
What do you do when your art-blocked as fuck? 8 |
I just start drawing random things. And listening to a LOT of music.
Drawing's not something I purposely make time for day-to-day, but when I'm in a block, I start deliberately forcing myself to draw at least a couple times a day to get back in the muscle for it.
;; I have no idea if any of that helps but I wanted to at least try ❤️ Talent such as yours shouldn't be bottled up in a crushing art block ;~;
i just let it pass LIKE A KIDNEY STONE RAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
i just look at pictures of pretty people and pretty art til i'm in tha ZONE
I usually listen to different kinds of music, read comics, and view galleries of my favorite artists. :)
Looking at better art when I'm blocked makes me sad. :c
I just don't draw for a while and wait for inspiration to come back.
I usually put off art til I miss it :C then it becomes a drug all over again u
I've been putting it off for so long, and I thought I missed it too. At this point I can't wait any longer because I've kept a lot of people waiting. @^@
I think I'm just going to have to grit and bear it and keep going until I shit something acceptable. Hopefully once I draw something decent it will continue?
And thanks guys for the advice, I'm blasting my favorite tunes right now. ❤️ And Batsy, your way too sweet. ❤️
Aww ;; ❤️ I was being honest x3 Music = magical healing juice. ;;
pretty much the same time as you, I.E. when I have to do art for other people.
it's a curse :(

I watch a favorite movie! Like Labyrinth :) I've been binging on that all week and now I draw goblins eeeeeeeeeverywhere!
The last time I had an art block was about 4 months ago? What I did was watch heaps of anime (when I had the time) and go on deviantart and look at all the pretty pictures I was envious of and BAM! art block is no more!11!!@@! ;o
Eeew, art blocks are always depressing. ): You need to drink more water. STAY HYDRATED, THAT RAGE WILL DRY YOU OUT!
Haha, I either put it off and off and off (like, for half a year,) or just endlessly hatch paper. Or practice drawing ampersand signs. One day I will master you, ampersand! Mindless, repetitive activities get me in the zone.
music, movies, going outside, hanging with friends, read a book. do anything except draw. eventually the pain of not creating art will be bigger than the pain of creating it, and you'll end up going back to your sketchbook full of inspiration.
I take a nap. Literally.
Usually when I feel art-blocked, I am just tired. The standard prescription is 1 nap + judge judy + can of coke = arts.
