It depends on the Pets intelligence. You need to raise the int of your pet in order to get a job. And each time before you ask for a promotion you have to increase it's intelligence again or it will most likely get fired.

Is it possible it varies from job to job? Also, I imagine there is an element of chance involved. Storms, maybe you were just unlucky?

Well after reading some books to my pet it finally got accepted...maybe it's the type of job (easy, medium, etc.)?

I think it varies, all my pets got the Kora Pops job with 0 intell, they got rejected by every other Boss.

read read read, I think it is something like every 5 or 10 books the intelligence goes up and you may ask for a raise. Good luck, and read those books

haha idk my pet that has over 300 intellegence got accepted into the library but all my other pets with little to none intellegence did not get the job.

I'm pretty sure intelligence is only for a job in the library. I'm not so sure about the rest.

Well, the Weapons shop would most likely need a mixture of battling ability and intelligence.

I think it's the intelligence.. :/ and chance has something to do with it too :D
