I got my blood taken today, pretty proud of myself, how well I handled it. Since I'm going to have to get it taken every month while I'm on this medication I'm having to take for my skin. And it was my first time ever getting my blood drawn. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, but I had a shot recently so, lol
What about you? What was it like your first time?

FAIL
I didnt give blood. I went to the doctors. O.o;;;
But I will sometime or another give blood, no doubt there. Not scared of needles anymore, I closed my eyes while they drew it though lol.
When I was 9 I was unwell and the Doctor took some blood to find out what was wrong with me. I made the stupid mistake of looking at my arm as he put the needle in and I nearly passed out. I felt really sick afterwards and then my sister asked how big the needle was and I collapsed. I have a fear of needles now. /lame story
Edit: I had chicken pox. xD
Well, as I said before I closed my eyes. Thats all I have to say to you next time you have it done. Because before you know it, its over. Just keep those eyes closed. ^^
my first blood drawing was when i was 6 the doctor poked me on the tip of the finger and took a drop of blood i nearly fainted :P
my first REAL time was when i was 8, during 2nd grade i was really sick, so i had to
'til this very day i don't have the guts to look at the needle being jabbed into my skin xD
Accutane, they check my liver. That's why I have to get my blood drawn every month, that and so they can be sure I'm not pregnant XD
Gotta be securely sure I'm not because it deforms babies and the girls that got pregnant while on it made it harder for us girls that aren't around guys and that don't want to get pregnant anytime soon >_>; And just want to take the medicine and get it over with.
I can't remember the first time I got my blood taken. I used to flip shit when I got shots though.
Now I'm fine with shots and getting blood taken. It's just a tiny pinch. Plus...when I get my blood taken I love watching my blood spurt into the tube in the beginning. XD
I probably would have passed out today if I watched her take my blood, she had to draw three vials O.O;;;
Anyways. I just remembered I also have to get my wisdom teeth cut out, (all FOUR of them) so I'll have to have an IV to put me to sleep, and stuff xD Not too worried about it now, just getting it over with is all thats bothering me.
And I'm seventeen, turning eighteen in September.
i've never had blood drawn from me, but way to go, you! :D seems like you handled that visit at the doctor's very well~
i'm contemplating giving blood once i get a little older, i'll have to figure out how it works n' all. yah.
A bit of advice though before you do try it out, wait a bit before you stand up, and I'm pretty sure they'll tell you to stay down a bit, because one pint of blood is a lot to your body XP My mom passed out, she didn't know to stay seated.
You will pass out if your not used to it. o.o; I don't know this be experience, I know this because of my grandmother telling me And what I've learned. Anyway sometime or another I'll give blood ^___^ I suppose that will be my next goal to achieve lol
When I was about 6 I had it taken. I used to scream, I dont think it ever really hurt, but I got gum afterwards XD After the first few times I gave up screaming and just learnt to watch, I find it really interesting. It doesnt bother me at all.
I had my blood taken by a trainee a few weeks ago, she was so nervous but she was actually really good. No pain, no bruising (I bruise like a peach)
Lol, might as well get used to it if you have to have it done every month :P
I've gotta have a blood test on Friday :( Because they need to find the cause of my palpitations.
I've had one before, and that wasn't the most fun. The guy doing it kept jogging the needle, that fucker. It bloody hurt ):< And he had to use a rubber glove to tie my arm as he couldn't find the other things lol.

...every month? :x
The sight of blood makes me sick. The first time I started my period, I fainted. LOL :(
But yeah, I don't think I'll ever give blood. :c
i had some shots today, too. in fact, i just got back from the doctor's office about ten minutes ago.
i got three vaccines: hepatitis A, hepatitis B and HPV. the last one hurt like a bitch, but the pain has eased to the point i barely feel it.
i don't go to the doctor's very often, so i know that every time i go i'm going to walk out full of holes ;o
i'm pretty pleasant when i get shots. my sister, on the other hand, freaks out and starts blubbering way before she's even injected.
Ugh. Last time I was there the girl couldn't find my vein so she was digging around under my skin.
Weirdest tingling sensation ever. I still like to watch, though.
The first time I had to have blood taken, I was in 4th grade, had food poisoning, they took it from my right arm, and it hurt like HELL, even after they stabbed the needle in. I cried, of course, and my mom was uber sympathetic, and yelled at the doctor to try my left arm. Didn't hurt at all when they stabbed, when it was in, and when it was removed. :)
Yes, every month.
And dont worry PHYRE I have no fear of needles any more. Im not saying I look forward to getting my blood drawn, but I'm not a chicken about it anymore. But thanks for the support. Well, to everyone they got my vein on the first try, and it hurt but not as bad as I thought ^^ Lucky me the lady that done it was very good at it. Sorry about the pain for you guys o.o; Hopefully next time it wont be so bad for you.
It felt like it was swirling around in my arm, my mom said I was feeling it sucking the blood out of me, but I think it was the needle moving xP Who knows I had my eyes closed, she told me the lady was very steddy though, oh wellz. Thanks for sharing everybody, I'm happy about all the replys ^_^
