..trying to kill my cat

my 18 year old cat (yes she ancient) was in my next door neighbors garden drinking from there pond when all three of there dogs attacked her, and the owners did NOTHING, my brother had to jump over the wall and pull the dogs of her, she was being pulled apart by them. Then when we got the poor cat back the owner complained one of the dogs had a scratch on there nose :( im just hoping our cats ok now, shes been limping ever since and won't go out side.

there dogs are so badly behaved, they killed there pet rabbit and are constantly attacking there cat. There poor cat keeps trying to get into out house because it's so scared. They won't have them neutered and they breed them which makes them worse then they complain there badly behaved. if there cat is in the house they have to carry it around so the dogs don't get it -rolls eyes- why bother? get the dogs trained or gotten rid off altogether.

(im not blaming the dogs, just the owners)

Your cat should not have been on their property. Period. So techinacally it isn't their fault. That's sad, though. I hope your cat is okay.

Damn, I can't stand it when people get pets and haven't a clue how to properly look after them/train them. Hope your cat gets better :/

My old neighbours had this mental dog that could jump the garden fence (which was pretty bloody high). It attacked my old cat once, but before I could go and drag the dog away, my cat had scratched up its face and it'd fucked off.

These same neighbours went through about... 6 or 7 dogs during the time I lived next to them. They'd get bored of one or not be able to handle it (because they wouldn't be arsed to train it) and give it away. Then get more.

<p>However, it is their concern as to what happens to their animals.

yeah i know, but they complain to me about it XD

There dogs have started attacking each other now, it's not safe, not to mention they keep the whole village awake with the racket :(

Ugh, I can't stand obnoxious dog owners. I like dogs (behaved dogs), but some people act so ridiculous when it comes to their dog(s). Those people shouldn't even have cats if their dogs act like that - and I'm sorry to hear about your poor cat. I wonder if there is a way you can make sure she doesn't enter your neighbors yard anymore. Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do about the dogs since it occurred on their property, but give me a break. Your neighbors complained about a scratch on the dogs nose? Puh.

I'd suggest taking your kitty to the vet just to make sure their is nothing else wrong internally.

I mean, your cat was outside and on your neighbor's property.. but still. I understand where you're coming from. My dog's blind and we've had incidents before. She was outside going to the bathroom and whatnot and our neighbor a few houses down let their dogs out, and their dogs ran into our yard and started sort of.. attacking our dog. I guess they were partly trying to play, but they're not trained too well to begin with, and my dog had no idea what was going on. :(

You could have called the animal control. Thats what I would have done the dogs had no right and the owners should have stopped or make some atemt to stop it at the least. Those dogs could be labbled as dangerous and could be put down or taken away if there owner.

hahaha! woow, that suckkks. though if it was my dogs my family probably wouldn't stop em either, theres a stranger in there yard. its pretty much a dogs instinct to protect its territory...

You can't call the animal control for the dogs attacking a pet in THEIR yard. The dogs have a right to protect their yard. It would be another matter if the dogs attacked the cat on its own property. Just because the animals attack a cat, or some other small animal they can't be labeled as dangerous. That is their instinct, but I agree the owners should have done something and should have trained their animals.

you can call animal control here (UK) there very big on animal welfare and even though it's on there property the cat is still ours, and they wouldn't take the dogs away but the owners would be in trouble

(yes i did my research XD)

Dogs are NOT stupid for doing what comes naturally to them in their own yard.

Be a good owner and keep your pet safe in your own yard. Allowing your cat to roam free is stupid.

i live in a tiny village in the middle of the country side, you can't train your cats and if were going by that every time there cat runs away from there dogs in to my house I'll just chuck it back to them sorry if i sound rude but you can't control were a cat goes like you can a dog

Then you don't let the cat outside, or you build it a run. The fact that your cat went into their dogs' territory and they happened to go after it is neither the dogs' fault nor their owner's, it's yours. It's like the cat that snuck into our yard, broke into our fenced-off rabbit pen and killed one of our bunnies, by your logic I could get into shit because in the process said cat got pretty torn up by the rabbit it was trying to kill.

If your cat came into my property where my dogs are kept and they pounced on it, that's not my problem. I kept my old cat inside, that way I never had to worry about her trespassing and getting into trouble elsewhere
