This is my THIRD fucking portable hard drive from Western Digital that has gone ass end up on me in two fucking months. I have a feeling something on my laptop if screwing with it, but I don't know what it could be.
I've been so careful with them. I haven't dropped it, it hasn't suffered any damage, and the content on it is virus-free and most of it is protected.
GAH!
I just want to rip my hair out. It's so fucking frustrating! I keep hacing to take it in to have data recovered, so now I dave everything on my C:/ drive and don't even bother trying to get my WD to work.
I only seem to work when you hand it upside down off a wall. I have no idea why.
FUCK. I have to send it in again (thank god its covered, or I'd be throwing a shit-fit), but I just can't figure out what the hell is going on with it.
CC, tell about your stupid technology problems. Has anyone put a brick through somethning yet?
i have a dell laptop that runs perfectly. one day, i turn it on, and i get "user profile cannot be loaded"
i tried everything and nothing i did would fix it. i called dell support, microsoft support, i went to geek squad who wanted to charge 100 dollars to "diagnose and repair" it but there was no virus or anything.
so i said fuck it and just did a factory restore. i lost everything but it was free. it runs perfect again now and losing all my files isnt that big of a deal because its just dumb pictures and music.
but when i was 14, i had a desktop. it was really old, windows 98. we were getting a new one anyway, so the last time it fucked up on me i punched it my ABSOLUTE HARDEST right in the monitor.
it did nothing lmfao. my middle knuckle started bleeding.
Beep. Beep. I am insulted. If my memory could hold emotions, I would be enraged.
End nerd talk.
I apologize for your computer problems. :c I used to have a kajillion pound laptop that would randomly die. I would be doing something important and it'd be like "LOLOLOLOL." I was not a very happy camper. Breaking technology pisses me off. I've lost so many good games and systems to aging. DAMN YOU FAULTY COMPUTER CHIPS. DAMN YOU!
:/ Do you have magnets anywhere in your house? Or at work? Or anywhere else you go during the day? Magnets can and will wipe all data off of USBs, and then make them not work.
My computer used to be so much ass, when you'd plug something in, it'd restart.
And every computer I've had, I've pretty much killed. I burned the motherboard to a crisp on my desktop and basically blew up my laptop internally.
I have a new laptop now. it's nice :D
My mp3 player, the Creative Zen, started glitching on me a week or so ago, and now it won't turn on at all. I've only had this mp3 player for like a year too =(
Unless I'm over some polar magnet I don't know about, magnets have been nowhere near it. I thought about that, too, the first time it farked me over.
That reminds me that I need to back up all the stuff on my portable hard drives. They've worked just dandy so far, but I'd be heartbroken if I lost all my stuff.
Right now I've got my technology issues mostly sorted out. My desktop computer needs to be wiped since it's loaded with all sorts of viruses and adware and crap, but I'm just using my laptop right now anyway. I've also had some really bad luck with earphones for the past year, but I ordered a new pair that will hopefully be better.
That sucks ass big-time.
I have a WD portable hard drive as well, but I haven't used it much in the last month... I haven't really created much new data/settings.
But you know what pisses me off? Every power supply I ever get dies.
Same thing with my dad. That, and every wireless internet hib he's ever bought has comitted suicide.
My family is technologically cursed. ;=;
I've had so many external hard drives blow up on me in the past :/ I have no idea why. The things just hate me or something.
My dad finally got fed up and got an internal one for me. ...Let's just hope my computer doesn't blow up now. knocks on wood
