Yep. That's how long it takes me to get a doctor's appointment. Knowing my luck I'll be perfectly fine again by the time I go to see her.
This is rather ridiculous. Oh well.
So CC, when you are feeling unwell, do you bother going to a doctor? The ER? Walk-in clinic? What do YOU do?
I'm one of those people that feels ridiculous going to the ER unless it's a life-threatening thing. Or just really painful. I actually hate going to the doctor at all.
No, I don't bother going to the doctor.
Most of the time my doctor's office, is SO crammed full of people, that there would be no point trying to get an appointment, because usually I can't get an appointment for a month. :(
I just get medication, but if it gets worse and worse, I book an appointment.
Three weeks is pretty ridiculous! At my doctor's surgery they don't have an appointment system, you just turn up when you're feeling ill and you get to see a doctor as soon as possible. I thought it was a pretty silly idea at first, but it actually works really well, therefore if I'm not well I just pop along the road to the doctor's and get seen the same day :)
Normally it takes a week to get a doctors appointment here. However, the doctors surgery keeps emergency appointments for throughout the day, every day, and if you need one you need to phone up at half 8 in the morning. The system works fairly well.
I never go to the doctor unless I'm sure I have strep throat or something.
Usually medicine can fix the other stuff. :)
Good luck at the doctor!?
With my doctor, I can get an appointment next day, near enough. Sometimes same day.
And I can just go on down to the hospital when I want, but I may be waiting for hours if it's busy. There's a clinic thing next to the doctor's offices, but that's a bit shit, so I go to the hospital if I need a blood test or something.
I rarely ever go though. I went to the doctors' the day before yesterday simply because I was having symptoms of heart attack LOL. It would probably take me to be bleeding from the eyes for me to ring the hospital....

My doctor gets appointments on the same day usually, sometimes next day. Three weeks is ridiculous. o.o You don't have another doctor?
And I only go if I've been sick for a long time. I like the doctor, but I just don't feel the need to go every time. XD
She's my family doctor, and the only reason I want to go to her is because I've had health issues in the past that might be affecting me again now, and she's aware of them. Also I have a click in my ankle. lol.
Sometimes I have to make appointments more than a month in advance. At least it's easy to co-ordinate with work.
Where is this?
Was on a forum about nationalised health services where someone reckoned that in Britain there are long waiting times for appointments. They have a duty to see you within a few days here (Britain) if necessary.
Can't imagine waiting for a week even for something not important.

When I called mine up they offered me one 3 weeks later. It's really annoying. I wouldn't be ringing them if it wasn't ill.
ARGH.
Not a regular doctor, but when I went to my old eye doctor, my mother had to schedule my appointments a month in advance because he's Jewish, and according to him, there's a Jewish holiday every week, so he's hardly at work.
My mom switched me to a new guy (who's a total hunk btw XD) and if I called with a problem tonight, they could fill me in for tomorrow.
Dr. Hunky = ❤
I go to the doctor if I'm feeling really bad, or if I have something that will just not go away for a long while.
At my doctor's office it never takes any longer than a week to get an appointment. And 99% of the time I get an appointment within a few days.
Nope. Not in the least. I just tough it out. When I do, it's usually for my knees. They dislocate. @; That is extremely painful. And they have to pop it back in. So yeah. I guess I go for somethings, but as for being sick, I never really go.
My grandma does though. She goes for everything little thing. Sneezing? OMG DOKTRS PLZ. Yeah. It's kinda annoying. We get a phone call every week or so that she's in the hospital but not to worry. xD
We have walk-ins and by appointment. Usually if it's appointment you have to call before the day you want to go or in some cases you can have a slot reserve for you that day too (if you are on the road already). The only thing that takes long to have an appointment would be for CTscan and MRI which is understandable seeing as how many patients needs to use it.
I do go to my doctors frequently. It's a requirement for my health reasons, and I ain't scared of them. :) But if it's the normal cough or flu, I just stay in the house.
