Okay, so today the whole 5th grade walked to this park for our end of the year party. That was awesome. But, while we were walking back to the school, I was comtemplating weather to ask Brandon out or not. Well, I finally decided that I would. So I sent Rory and Aleycia to go find him and ask him. So, I was finally brave enough to ask him, and he was actually single...and he said no. He said he just wanted to be friends. I could've killed someone. The rest of the way back to school all I could say was, ''m mad Rory.'' "I hate boys." ''Boys suck'' And he apologized to me,too, but I just glared at him. Ugh, boys suck.
i applaud you for having the courage to ask him!!!! that's always the hardest part. ^_^
however, you shouldn't be angry at him for being honest with you. at least you guys can still be friends.

I guess this kinda ruins my plans of being his own personal paparazzi on the last day of school.
Sounds more to me like you want to be his fangirl than girlfriend. You can still be his fangirl now.

Well of course he just wanted to be friends.
You guys are 11 or 12 years old. He doesn't want to get into the whole dating shit yet.
I don't really think anyone in the 5th grade does.
at least he was honest and didn't end up putting the two of you in a terrible relationshipo.
you can still be friends? :) i know that sounds horrible right now, but when you find a new crush you'll be glad.
lolwut
you guys are kids. you shouldn't be thinking about 'love' yet. just be glad he still wants to be your friend? idk gl with that anyway
lol, actually, he does. He's had two girlfriends before. And actually everyone does.
Kids don't know what the hell dating is...come to think of it, a lot of adults don't either. You're in 5th grade, you're still a kid, enjoy being a kid while you can and put off worrying about the dating scene until you're old enough for it to get interesting :P
At least he was honest, and didn't avoid you. O_o
Don't worry about it. You two are young, and all that good stuff. :) Just be glad he wasn't childish or anything, and be glad that you two are friends. ^_^
Really? I'm about to start the 9th grade and people have just started the whole dating thing.
When I was in 5th grade, the only things important to me and everyone (well, the girls, anyway) at that time were having a Xanga and playing with Bratz at sleepovers with friends.
I guess a lot changes in 4 years.
Edited because I worded things in a weird way.
A lot changes? I'm 23 years old and people dated all the time back when I was in elementary school- 5th grade for me was 1996. It was a common occurrence. Kids also know how to date, come on, it's easy. :/ Where do these assumptions come from?
Dude, it sucks being rejected. I'm sorry that happened to you. But kid you're only in the 5th grade, and even though having a boyfriend may seem like a big deal right now, you should wait until you're like 13 or so. Trust me, when you're my age, you'll want to go back to the days where you were happy just being a kid and boys didn't matter. Not that boys are bad, because kissing is a good thing ;) Anyway, don't be in such a rush to grow up, your time will come.
^i lol'd.
either way, sorry to hear that. but you shouldn't be mad. he could have said yes even though he doesn't really like you, and it would suck to find out later that he didn't even like you in the first place.
don't be mad. there are other fish in the sea. but you're in fifth grade. you got nothing to worry about, hun.
I'm 23 as well, no-one I knew was dating back in grade 5, or 6, 7, and one or two just barely began dating in grade 8.
Guess it's different for everyone ;)
And apparently, I'm the only girl he's rejected. Ever.
Would you rather he'd said yes but not really meant it?
He was honest and mature to say that you can still be friend instead of avoiding you or being cruel about it. Even if it hurts right now you will get over it and you'll realise that it doesn't matter that much at your age.
