sigh
Why do people do this? There are a multitude of new threads to post it...so why do people feel the need to go back about 100 pages in order to post on something that everyone has forgotten about? It's just completely insane.
I've seen this happen a lot and then the people who post AFTER the thread has been brought back from the dead, and are unaware, feel stupid for not checking the dates. But we shouldn't HAVE to check the dates, should we? It's common sense really. You don't see a new thread and expect someone to have revived it before it's too late and you've already posted on there.
Actually, it is against the rules and reportable. And I know what board you're talking about, and it's already been reported.

ikr? This has happened to me several times before, and I'm just like, why would you even want to look at threads that old? ): What purpose does it serve? irritating enough, but I guess there's not much you can do about it.

I know, this sucks so much! Already seen this yesterday >.< Everyone understands if you make a new thread because the only one you could find is over a year old.
And then these super great answers!
"Oh thank you that helped me a lot!"
In a thread about the HAIR SALON! Which is down since months ._. I wish people would open their eyes and look at the dates, really :x
edit: I mean it's okay if you are new and don't know better, but it's still so annoying. It seems like some people don't know anything about forums in total...
It would be great to lock threads this old I think ... but a lot of work Dx
Thank goodness for that!
i find it annoying when people revive week old threads, or ones more than like 4 days old :x
I think it happens mostly when people use the "search" function on the forums. Looking for a specific topic to talk about, and then they just post without checking how old the thread is.
Yeah, that would be a good idea, I think. I'm not a staff member though so that's easy for me to say...
argh it is annoying.
I like to read old threads sometimes but I never post on them =x
Some really old threads are in the Useful Threads For ____ stickies because they are still useful. Some conscientious users read those stickies to find threads on what they're looking for and never think to check dates.
There's also the forum search/subscribed threads options. If someone is looking for a particular thread and find it via forum search they could very easily stumble across a very old board without realising.
That said, please report it any time you see a thread being revived after not being posted in for 3 months.
Actually it doesn't happen so often. Barely I'd say. One board revived doesn't really bother me, I won't post on it anyway, though this is against the rules and warnable.
(Because text affects the width of your signature, we suggest testing with all text removed to be sure your width is correct.)
That is a little...odd, but people probably find that to be an interesting topic and want to comment on it.
Why they don't make a new thread is beyond me, though :P
Not on here so much, but it does on a lot of other forums. If you combine every single forum up you'll get thousands of people doing this sort of thing. I've been an internet user for over 6 years and I've seen it loads. So very annoying.
I hate it when people do that.
Especially when the conversation continues on for like, 5 days and people don't realized it was a really old thread.
Lol if this thread gets revived eventually.
Ugh, that is irritating. I know I saw someone who did that on three boards that ended over three months before.
I try not to go past three days, a week tops.
When I see it I figure it is a goofy newbie that doesnt check dates

He also Said: I have a mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.
Yeah, probably just a silly newbie. I doubt they mean any harm. They've probably found the topic through the Search function. :P
