All right, so. This upcoming school year, starting in September, I'm moving to Boston for college. I've lived in Texas my whole life, so yeah, I know it's going to be a big change. And cold and yeah.
But I want to know, Bostonians. What do you recommend reading/learning/knowing before moving to the Northeast? Where should I go to eat and party and relax when I'm not working for school stuff? :o
I very much appreciate it. I want to be hip with the jams, yo.
Im excited for you! I hope you have a great time there. Never been outside of my State but a couple of times, never that far though. lol (lives in Tennessee) Hope someone responds to you on those questions, but you could look up good places near the area that your movie too on google or something like that. Sorry that I'm not much help xP But anyway, hope you have a great time moving there!
Yeah, I've talked to a few people who live there and I googled it once or twice, but I wanted to see what you guys had to recommend. :<
ah, what college will you be attending?
i applied to attend boston college when i graduated from high school but ultimately chickened out due to the weather (i'm from arkansas). so kudos to you for that! haha.
i have no doubt that once submerged into the culture, it will just flow naturally. you'll find all those little places without fail.

My cousin moved there and she says if you use the accent they have, you'll get more friends? xD
Although she's probably just kidding/lying. :P
I'm going to the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. :)
And yeah. Fortunately, I don't have a Texas accent (somehow I miraculously managed that), so that shouldn't detract from my attempt at a social life. :/
BOSTON IS LOVE. //bostonian
okayy. so you should frequently visit the harvard square ++ cambridge area. it's really fun and has lots of cute cafes. copley is also a must, it's around that area and is really pretty c: i also go to faneuil hall / quincy market , there are lotsa street performances and stuff. and um. it's pronounced BAHSTUN. lol @ boston accent. just so you know n-n
I live in Canada, but I'm going to be taking a trip to Boston this summer with my sister and brother in law, so I hope you don't mind me lurking a bit on this board for fun things to do (:
Good luck with college, and I'm sure you'll fit in just swell! ;D
Dude, thanks Fallen! I'll make sure to check those places out. ❤️
And haha, lurk away aryka.
hey, haha, I too am going to boston this summer :P My dad's even going to some sort of conference held at a college, but I think it's colby-sawyer... Which isn't in boston. Either way.
I'll just do what does and lurk away~ no clue as to what to do since I live in sweden :/ I'm sure you'll have a great time though :)
THEY CAN'T BREAK YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPINE
Dude, smileyface, that was super helpful! Thank you so much! And yeah, I love the common and Newbury Street. I'm definitely going to be poor after a month of living there. :/
And yeah, I know it's going to be goddamn cold. I'm hoping I'll manage. :(
I live in Texas too! Yay Texas pride. I don't have advice for Bpston, but I have noticed in the many years I've lived in Texas that we think we're better than the other 49 states xDDD
