Alright, well Saturday there was this party that I attended with my boyfriend. It was all fun, but later I found him sitting in the bushes, and he looked pretty upset, so I sat down next to him, and just talked to him. Of course, because he and I walked around holding hands earlier, everyone thought we had snuck off to makeout or something. And so when we were sited sitting in the bushes together in the dark, everyone thought we were, well, I'm not too sure what they thought, but you can imagine. I really have no idea what to do because everyone's just... spreading rumors. Untrue rumors. And I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about it, because nobody will believe me when I say nothing happened. Any suggestions?
Thanks :]
I'm going with this XD
I like this, too. ;)
I second this motion. xD
Quite honestly, once a rumor is going around, there's nothing you can do to really stop it as much as you want to. If any person asks about it, just say exactly what happened. Be nonchalant about it, don't raise your voice in anger, don't be emotional about it. Considering it's school, chances are the rumor will be replaced soon enough.
Honestly, if you act indifferent to the rumors, people will get bored of telling it because most like to see another person's reaction to the information being passed around. No reaction= no drama. Rumors are there to create drama. Just back away from it all and you'll be fine.
