We all have to do things we don't want to at times. I'm sure everyones had their share of 'unfair' jobs.

But you know it's not going to last forever, so the easiest thing to do is take pride in what you're doing and how you're doing it. If you start your tasks in a good mood, and keep your head high, you'll finish in a good mood.

As for your dad, you're going to have to learn how to deal with him getting angry at some point, and as difficult as it may be, the easiest thing to do is to just try and be as nice as possible.

Just keep in mind that this stuff isn't forever :).

If you keep making up excuses, then no one is going to be able to help you. You sound like you won't be satisfied until someone agrees with you about how much of a prick you make your step father out to be.

He's only trying to teach you responsibility. Just do what you're told and shut up. He only 'raises his voice' because you act like a stubborn whiny 5 year old. The only reason he has you 'shoveing' your hands into 'pretty much cancer' is because he doesn't want you sitting on your ass all summer when you could be doing something productive.

My suggestion is to make a schedule on how to balance your school work and your chores at home.

If he's being rude about it maybe talk to your mom and get her to show you how to do this stuff and ask HER if you can do your homework first. I know they give you guys a lot more homework than what I had when I was a kid. Apart from that, you just gotta figure out how to deal with it for yourself. Galena's right though, complaining is wasting time.

My suggestion? I would do what you're told. He's just trying to teach you responsibility so you know how to clean before you're on your own. If you have a hard time with something, why don't you ask him if he can walk you through it?

Everyone has things that need to be done. When my parents asked me to do stuff for them, I failed a few times sure... but eventually I learned how to and got them done quickly. So when they ask me now, I can just do it. The only thing you need to figure out is how to do it and that you can figure out by asking him.

Something like: "So you mean that.... " is a really good sentence you could use. It means you were listening and if you got it wrong it won't be as bad, saying: "I don't get it, you are horrible at explaining!" doesn't really work.

Honestly, do what you have to do without complaining so much about it. Everyone has responsibilities and I find it really strange that they are asking you 'impossible' things when you are 13. My parents asked me to do chores when I was like... 8 or so. It comes naturally if you are willing to do you best, if you aren't ... well then you shouldn't have posted anyway :)

You&;re wasting time complaining on the internet

Time she could spent doing her school work. shrug

Man, get over it - do what you're told to do. It won't kill you.

And if you don't want help, and are only shooting down all the help you're getting here, the only thing I can tell you is: See how you manage all on your own, then.

And that thing with that you're "only" a GIRL and that you shouldn't do that kind of work made me sick.
