My mom was born premature and lost her sight from that, plus botched surgeries. Her eyes are now (literally) starting to break down. Disintegrate. Turning grey. Dying.... and she STILL has to go in every three years to get her eyes examined to make sure she's STILL ELIGIBLE. Lol. It's not like her sight is going to come back, guys. Not after sixty years.

Yep it's always doctors they choose and they assume you're faking the whole thing... er ya dude. I'd fake having crap eyes to get a couple bucks off of you.

One single person on disability can't survive on what they deem to toss you. 'will not rant, will not rant...."

Okay, granted, some people DO, I know, but ... still. 'sigh' Hopefully your earth monies come. For all the back pay they owe you, be careful that this check they don't turn around and say is income and THEN deny you more disability because of the "income" you got. I have that happen to me a lot. I get a "back check" from not getting enough that year in Nov... then in Feb they knock my disability in half b/c I got "income" in November ... from. them.

Repeated for like... five years before they straightened it out.

Haha, I came here ready to argue about the government 'being retarded', but I have to agree with the points you made. It's really like that with any part of government, though; DHS, Child Support, etc. They all suck. :|

My brother gets disability. I'm not really sure why; he's perfectly capable (just has tons of social anxiety). He basically lives off that and money from his cab-driving job. He lives with a bunch of old hippies, too, so I guess it isn't like he has to pay all the bills himself or anything.
