This is part rant, part discussion forum, I guess.

I've recently gotten into several BBC shows, namely the Doctor Who franchise. Being the obsessive fan I am, I flocked to their website for some official goodies like wallpaper and such.

The problem? BBC uses geolocking to protect much of it's online content. That means that people outside the UK can't access it.

This makes me more than a little miffed. I buy their books, I buy their box sets (rather heavily priced, I might add), and yet when I want to access that same content on the internet, I can't because of where I live. That doesn't seem very fair.

The music discovery service Pandora also uses Geolocking, as do a lot of US cable networks - online episodes are only available to US residents.

So, what do you guys think? Fair or no?
