1. Sketch

Description: This is how clean I sketch. I can omit the lining stage because it's clear enough, and because I will be painting over all of that anyways.

Time: 10 min Tools Used: Cover Pencil

2. Color Block

Description: Exactly as title suggests. Block in the colors and shades, and try to incorporate many colors into it to make it interesting.

Time: 15-20 min Tool: Watercolor

3. Refining

Description: Smoothing out, toning, cleaning up the lines ect.

Time: 90 -120 min Tool: Oil Pastel

4. Background

Description: Since there was a lot of melon color on the character, I decided on a melon colored background.

Time: 5 min Tool: Oil Pastel

5. Adjustments

@ xellis: hehe I use pens to draw in RL, so I try not to draw any wrong lines. And yes, I color block beneath my sketch and refine on top of it. (I collapse all layers and just paint.) I always use white to 'erase', so no transparent files for me. hehe
