bahhh I hate them and they hate me

sometimes I have luck making nice, lanky hands, but most of the time they just look fat and jumbled and blah. just wondering if I could get a redline/general critique on this WIP:

You don't have to just critique the hands, either. something about the whole thing just bothers me, especially the lapel (although I kind of erased it so there isn't... much there... ah well)

oh and ignore the freaky eyes I always leave eyes until last.

just two tiny things and other than that i think it is beautiful:

the vest, the lapel on the right of the screen needs to be at a little more of a dramatic angle. like more /, you know, slightly more up-and-down so the V is deeper. i think this would get rid of the awkwardness, and also, it would create leading lines that centered the piece towards the newspaper kind, you know?

also i think the right hand is perfect except it gets a little too skinny too fast. the top of it needs to have a LITTLE less of a slope, because now it looks like it kinda collapsed?

That's great! The left hand is a little awkward in the index finger knuckle, but other than that it's pretty rockin'.

What would it cost to commission a picture like this?

I agree with about the hand; it pretty much looks like it's missing a bone, which made it look collapsed. I'd also fatten up the upper arm - it looks pretty skinny compared to the rest of the arm. It makes me think that there's no muscle there, and it's just bone, which is a bit jarring when the forearm is chunkier.

I don't know why I'm giving advice, my hands have been looking shocking lately ):

lucifel yeah, i always have a huge problem with arms, hahahaha. I have to keep that in mind.
