I have been practicing drawing realistically and for my first attempt i drew a male since the hair is shorter:

Only downside is that the hair looks horribly flat, and i really dont know how to make it look more real. Any help is appreciated, as is any tutorials you may know of.

try different variations of tone, accent the darker bits and lighter bits. also, just build the hair taller to make it less flat
