I do mine like 100x100... ;__; But they don't even really look good until they're shrunken... I don't like the way the actual lines of my lineart looks kinda blurry/weird...

But that's not the question... how large do you draw a CI before you shrink it to the 64x64?

My old style, I do them on 65x65 rather than shrinking them. My newer ones are done in 200x200.

If you're going for a subeta-item CI, shouldn't they be 64x64? ;D

I still haven't figured that size out for shrinkage. To shrink to 80x80 I draw at 320x320 (Huge, but gives me extra room to play), but I haven't found an optimum size for 64x64. Maybe the best thing to do would be to go for 128x128, but I don't often have time to mess around XD. The chibi in my forumset was done at around 280x280, but I'm not sure how well it turned out, really XD

I do them on a 300x300px canvas, with a 4 or 5px brush. Sometimes they still look fine after being shrunk, other times they seem to lose a lot of detail. I would experiment with different sizes, but I find it hard to draw on a much smaller canvas, and I'm worried it'll be even more difficult to keep the detail if I draw on an even larger canvas then shrink it.

Though the detail thing might have more to do with lack of practice. >_> I don't actually draw CIs much.

Thank you guys!

Somtimes my canvas will be big, but I end up drawing pretty small anyway. :<
