my wardrobe is dull and lacking in a large way. everytime i go into my waredrobe, i realize how little i have in it and how much i wish there was. each time i decide to venture off in subeta-land and find some new clothes, i can never find anything because the stores have nothing of interest these days, or nothing at all..any advice on how to find new, appealing clothing or just some random input?

I started out collecting the common clothes that often pull an outfit together. Fancy/expensive clothes don't always make an awesome HA.

Well, you can always use an HA generator and find clothes that appeal to you. =] Try subetaHQ or this site I found recently.

thank you for the advice. i think another thing attributing to my problem with outfitting my avatar is my lack of ideas for the theme of my outfit..and one i have one,i have extreme difficulty finding the right items that will work.. iv seen many user do exquisite jobs,but me,myself, i have not yet tapped into that ability

That's just normal katasstrophy. You need a lot of practice in making HAs. Just try and try and try. Make HAs you don't use, choose a color or two and try to build a HA with those colors. Or choose a special item and make your HA based on this. It's hard but it'll work sooner or later. Practice makes perfect, right? ^_^

Practice always makes perfect! c: If you're lacking in inspiration, why not look through Subeta's available clothing under the "All Subeta Clothing" option in your wardrobe. Browse through the clothing, and if there's something that catches your eye, try to buy it and work an HA around that. If you can't afford it, add it to your Wishlist and save up for it. But remember an expensive HA doesn't necessitate greatness. I've seen great HA's for an economy price. Don't worry too though, the more you play on subeta, the bigger your wardrobe grows!

Maybe if you pick out a wig you like, then one or two contrasting colours to it, you could start from there? I always start with a wig when choosing a new outfit :)
