I know I know, you all are probably sick to death from these "help me name my new pet!" threads. And I normally wouldn't do something like this since I think naming pets is a special thing that the owner should do themselves, but I need to name him quick! The breeder is wanting my information as well as a name for the kitty I'm getting.
I'm not sure if this is the kitten I'm getting, but he will look similar to this. Unfortunately I live several states away from the breeder so I can't go to her and pick one out. My sister is going to get some military training in a nearby city so she'll pick him up on the way home.
He is a ragdoll kitten, a seal bi-color with blue eyes. Ragdolls are known for the way they go limp when they are picked up. They're the largest breed of cat and have long, silky coats. They are often dog-like in personality, following the owner around the house and such.
I like classic/graceful names. Like two of my dogs' names are Ophelia and Amber (for her golden coat). The names Julius and Lucius popped up in my head.
So anyone have any suggestions?
Gah I love Ragdolls so much. We used to have one. SWEETEST cat ever. I'm horrible at naming things though sorry. D=
Aw, how adorable! :3 I'd suggest looking in Roman or Greek mythology if you're going for something classic and graceful. If it's a he, I like Adonis, Apollo, Zeus (love that name for a kitty ^_^) or something of that nature.
Dunno if you've ever seen this site or not, but it has tons of lists with thousands of names to choose from. I love the Shakespeare and Celtic/Gaelic names myself :D
Oh my god. That has to be one of the cutest kittens I've ever seen ;;
I really like the name Pip/Pippin for a boy kitten lD; For classic names... I like your suggestion of Julius. Romeo could also be a good one. What about Elliott ?
My friend got a Pomeranian puppy recently and named it Aeros (which I probably spelled wrong). She said it stood for the name of the Greek God of love. I thought it sounded cute.
Awe, how cute.
I have a Ragdoll cat myself.
I named her Munchkin because her legs are shorter than most of my other cats.
Think of cute names that make her sound small, but when people see her it's like why'd you name her that...
Probably thinking Eros, Blir.
You should give him a name he can grow into..we had a siamese cat named George C. Scott after the actor, because he had such a personality. Give him a multiple name so you can call him by the short version for sweet moments, and the whole name for naughty moments.
Thank you all for your suggestions! I will try to decide on something by the end of the day so I can get back to the breeder. It's so hard finding the perfect name in just a few hours! I suppose I could always change it later on, though I'd prefer not to.
My friend's cat's name is Berlin. And they have a few other ones named after various cities with cool-sounding names.
I also second whoever said Boris. I love that name.
RAGDOLL KITTEH <333
I used to have one when I was younger. His name was Smokey. He'd lay in mine and my sister's bunks until we fell asleep, then went over and watched tv with my parents until they fell asleep. He was the funniest cat ever <3 Still can't forget the night he got one of the hamsters out of their cage and dropped it on my dad's bare back as to say "Hey dad! I got a present for you! Can I eat it?" XD I'm still mad at my parents for taking him to the pound while I was at school =(
Boris would make an awesome name for a Ragdoll =) Huge, fluffy, and very laid back.
