I know his stats are not that great so far, but I am training him and will continue to do so :)

His current set is.... (blushes cause I know it's bad)

I was interested in getting the malice from the rc for his set but a friend who battles said my stats are too low for it to do me any good and I should make a board here to get some other options... thank you for your time and be please patient with me I'm fairly new to the battles :)

First off, The malices starts are really good O-o Great for starters.

But you should Switch the Life arrowhead with a Red Rreign staff of lore, it heals 50 HP and is Infinte use, an does icons and blocks some ice.

Malice: 18-22 light, 18-22 magma, 1-10 earth and 1-10 wind icons, 38-64 total icons, reflects 50% light and dark and increasing strength and defense by 50-100 points, unlimited use. *Strength and defense boosts only last for the duration of the battle they will not effect your pet’s permanent stats.

Okay so I bought the Red Rreign staff of lore and swapped that out.

Then the malice is a good choice? What item would you recommend it taking the place of and is everything else ok then?

I'd recommend switching out the Quill. :) The i'd also recommend switching out the Book for better weapons in This guide Take a look and grab something that fits your budget :) and im meaning the Mid-range and up weapons. And maybe get a 100% freezer/stealer.
