The long and short of it is that currently, we don't have a lot of bottom-oriented accessories in some odd shades of color, and I wish we did. XD

So I'm in my wardrobe messing with . I've got a cute thing going on so far.... the only thing? There's NOTHING to match TWO of the colors in the item for the BOTTOM half. DX

facepalm I mean, really Subeta. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new items, don't get me wrong. It's just.. if you're going to introduce new colors like this subdued yellow that doesn't match any of the yellows, creams, tans, etc., and this beautiful olive color.... could you PLEASE add some bottom items and shoes and legwarmers and things of that nature? They're such pretty colors, but none of the older items are close to it, and I refuse refuse refuse to pair it with the pants it was made with. D:

You get an item. You're SOOMIGODEXCITEDNESS! to use it in your newest HA creation. Then, about twenty minutes into it, you realize NOTHING MATCHES IT WHYYYYY.

...It happened to me around the time that the Immortal Eternal Assassin Vest was released.

It matched nothing. But I loved it so bad. I had to use it. And eventually stuff that looked good and matched in color with it showed up. (Other than the stuff from the set.)

...Give it time, maybe something other than the uber-matchy pants will show up.

It sometimes frustrates me too. I don't think an avatar has to match perfectly for it to be good, though. If a colour's slightly off then let it be slightly off. However, if you're not happy with it then you're not happy and yeah, that can be really frustrating. It's happened so many times with me. Sometimes I can be so so happy with the top half of my avatar but rip my hair out because I'm not satisfied with the bottom half.

The artists are always drawing new things, though. I'm sure there will soon be an abundance of new clothes for us to choose from.

1. You don' t need to match every little piece of your avatar. Sometimes it will pop more if you only bring out one or two of the colors from an item; especially using those shirts.

2. There are other olive colored items.

3. Try experimenting with layering stockings. You could totally get the yellow/cream and the olive that way.

Basically, this. You can layer socks/stockings/pantyhose to create a lot of 'hard-to-match' colors; I do it all the time. :P

I always tend to use sheer stockings and socks to match weird colors of my HA. Like what I'm wearing now.

Sometimes it really is frustrating when you've almost got everything how you want it, and then you get stumped by one little section and you can't find ANYTHING suitable.

At least on the bright side, the release of all these new items in far less conventional colours is perhaps a sign that MORE and MORE similarly less common colours will start cropping up and in greater volumes.

I think the key factor is just time itself. It's only a matter of time before you find yourself with an abundance of items in the wacky greens you need for that particular item you mentioned.

It's a pity it'll probably be 6 months after you need those extra options.. but .. yeah. xD ALL IN GOOD TIME.

It's just.. the shades are SOFAROFF that I'm like bangs head upon wall And yes, I'm supersupersuper grateful that the artists are always drawing up new things, and I think they're amazing at it. :] I just wish they'd release more bottom-oriented olive/subduedyellowcream items. Allegory:

1. I realize this. I actually have seen many HA's do that and make it stunning. It's just that, when two of the three colors from the item can't be found for the bottom, the HA won't look good. Therefore, I'm trying to match my avatar and balance it accordingly, so I don't have a huge blotch of burgundy at the bottom of my HA. :P
2. I know this. There's some really cute shoes that I could use, but they won't balance with the rest of the HA.
3. Already tried that. :P If I had a GA, I'd probably be able to do that, but since I doooon't.. yeah. :]

No, I'm not "one of those perfectionists." I just like my shades to be close. If they don't look close to me, then I don't like it, and that's just how I am. Like with your HA. Your shades of red are close. The darker shade in the middle goes with the darker shade of the shoes and such, and the lighter shade in the middle goes with the lighter shade in the flag. So I like it. If it was like.. salmon in the middle, then I wouldn't.

That's what was going on with the shades of olive/subduedyellowcreme. The shades were too different.

On a side note, I do strive for perfection with my HA. So. Yeah.

Yeah. My post was probably pretty redundant, really. It didn't give you a solution to your problem. I HOPE AT LEAST IT LIFTED YOUR SPIRITS YAY YAY YAY YOU ARE NOT ALOOOOONE, I AM HERE WITH YOUUUUUUUU etc.

Anyway. Sometimes the best results are when you don't have the most ideal options available to you. When you're challenged to improvise, sometimes you can come up with something that's far more out of the ordinary and memorable. :)

Mythica: Well there really ISN'T a solution to my problem. XDD Except to give the artists time to draw. ;_; AND IT IS GOOD TO BE NOT ALONE! :D I do like how the HA is turning out, though, since I had to go through every single item that reaches the lower half of the body to find the ONLY items that work. XD; It's not quite finished yet though. Do you mind if I show you when I'm done? :]

Gal: I know they're not a perfect match. :P I'm not SUPERPERFECTIONIST or anything. I just like my shades to be similar. :P

Also, I know the hat and pants were made to match. I just hatehatehate using two main pieces of a set in order to match my colors. (in this HA, I'm using the headband and shoes from a set.. not exactly key features of an outfit like a shirt and pants would be)

I don't like using main pieces of sets together because I'm creative with my HA. :P

I amember this one time when an artist (i believe it was mythi) made a board and asked us what pieces of clothing had odd colors that were hard to match.

and then she released an entire set or two of sashes or boots or things like that in the accessory bin in those colors :)

it was great. perhaps you can suggest that to an artist.

I don't know. I kind of like that some items don't have many colors to match, like that top. It makes it more of a challenge. Everyone loves a good challenge, yah? ;D

If you don't want to use the items from the set that match then well... thats your fault. XD I understand it might not be 'fashionable' to use more than one item from a set but still. You complain about lack of colors when there are clothes that match. xD

I'm GA-less at the moment too, and it does suck to have lost that third leg layer for things like this. You can still make it work though by utilizing your "bottom" layer properly. A pair of colored pants under a couple pairs of sheer stockings can often make for a better match anyways. ;)

You do have a point there. :]

It's a personal preference of mine to not use a shirt/pant set, though. So, aside from that, there's a lack of colors to use that match. :P

By the way, I LOVE your HA.

Also, before anyone says anything, that's not hypocritical. I don't like using main pieces of sets together, like shirts and pants. But shoes with accessories, I really don't care. XD;; Also, I'm not everythingmustmatchperfectly, either. I just like things to have a nice color scheme and an aesthetic color flow.. if that makes sense. XD;

[edit] Echolalia: The thing is, with the outfit I was working on, pants wasn't an option because the only way to get the yellow color at the bottom was to use a tattoo. XD; And I didn't want to hide it too much. :P

Okay, so instead of just telling you to try using stockings/leggings/leg items to layer to create the proper color, i went in search of layered combinations using only the two layers that non GA members have. And here we go:

1. Leopard Print Footless Tights under Peekaboo Boink Beige Stockings
2. Cream colored bloomers

The first one gives you a pretty good match to both the brown AND the yellowy-beige. The second is just an item by itself- it matches the creamy color pretty well.

And sometimes, the right color can be found in items that can be layered over your found leg layering (such as if you use the layered stockings trick for another tough color on your avatar). For your cream color i found that the Bone Tattoo Sheets were a good match, and even further, if used well, they can add a lot of texture to different areas of the avatar.

So there you go- it really wasn't impossible after all. If you have a defeatist attitude and give up, then yeah, you'll never find a proper match. It's really not impossible. When searching for a match, i often use the HQ's generator, because everything is right there at your fingertips, and it helps me build a list of basic layering color items that i need for my wardrobe on here. I've found that even if i'm not trying to create an avatar, when i have a little free time i pick out an item that i've had trouble matching in the past, and i tackle it. usually after an hour or so (yep. that long. success doesn't come quickly most of the time) i've found a suitable match.

So yeah, in essence, take your time, don't give up.

Me neither. I'd suggest buying all the sheer pantyhose and all the denimz. With two items per bottom/leg layer you're bound to match it somehow ;)

I used the "all items on Subeta" feature here, and I found a tattoo sheet, though I used a different one. I think it was all skull heads or something.

I didn't think about using the leopard tights under the peekaboo boink stockings. o: Though I tried those bloomers, and they were too bright and off-seeming to me.

But yeah, I totally understand what you're saying, and thank you for taking the time to look that up for me. ;_;
