-prods tribute HA-
I tried. It's hard to make an older man. But Ed McMahon was an awesome person. He liked to make people happy. He also fought in World War II.
I hate how everyone is devastated that Michael Jackson died, when they were poking fun about him 5 days ago, but a veteran of WWII died as well, and no one makes tributes to him.
My tribute isn't all that great, but on my limited munnies, I wish I could make a better one.
Wiki Ed. Learn something cool about a dude who didn't sing and dance, and wasn't a playboy model. :)
Did you know Ed McMahon has a star on the Walk of Fame?
Actually, he died before them, not after.
What about David Carradine?

It's nice that you made a tribute avatar, but I don't think your point is valid. What about the 25000 children under 5 who die each day? Michael Jackson was more well-known. Life is unfair like that.
We move against the tide.

I didn't even know who he was. It's sad that he died but he lived a good, long life. It affects people when they hear about everyday people dying young on the news. So it's going to affect a LOT of people when celebrities die young as well. That's just how it goes.
i'm so glad you did this so i didn't have to try to figure out how to. he was rad, and i'm sure he'd have appreciated even the smallest tribute.

I asked my mom yesterday what about ed mcmahon and you know what she said " He died a few days ago" So? Doesn't mean he wasn't a great person I mean come on Star Search the precursor to american idol and americas got talent.
Bathory is hungry for MORE MORE I SAY. - If you think you are unattractive just remember you look like your ancestors, and hey all of them got laid-
im happy you made this! hes just as good as the other 2
i personaly have never heard many good things about him. mostly just bad things on hes treated a few people on his show and how he lost of his money getting caught up in fame. But im glad that there's someone out there that likes him and would do a tribute to him.<3 I honestly, am not sad about any of the three deaths. I feel sorry for those who knew them personally, but its not like I really liked them much.[Out of celebrities ive probably only cared last year when Bernie Mac died.] Plus he was a lot older than Micheal, which is why Micheal's death probably overpowered the others. Even in his death, he took the most attention. blah >/ though im surprised subeta didnt make any tribute for him also.
EDIT: did he have grey hair? I remember him having brown...maybe im going crazy x]
Ed McMahon brought smiles to millions. And millions to make you smile. :)
/attempt at being clever
More people care about Michael Jackson because he affected more people that are on this site. Millions of people listened and loved MJ's music...
The truth is... that Ed McMahon was a lot older when he passed, and Farrah had cancer for a long while... Michael Jackson's death was simply more of a shock to most people, I think. shrug
Plus, to the current teen-aged generation, he's the only one that had real impact. They might only know McMahon from the Publisher's Clearing House commercials. It's sad that anyone dies... My best friend's father in law died last night. I care much more about that than I do 3 celebrities that I never met nor followed.
That's life. ;)
It is tragic that people died this week. What bothered me was all the hype about MJ's death. Yes it was a shocker but it was/is crazy! But Like the person above said if there never was a star search makes me wonder if there would have ever been AI or any other shows like that. Ed is the reason we have some of the stars we have today... because they were on his show and got their shot at the big time...
What is sad is people trashed MJ before his death and now are all singing his praises and talking about how amazing he was... he was shunned by a lot of the media and all for his personal life.. but I will say this... who knows where some of our music would be without him... SOOOO many pop/rock stars pay respect to him saying he was their inspiration he was why they wanted to be singers.
Everyone deserves respect for what they have brought to us even the ones that are old and we didn't expect to live long. Ed and Farrah both were battling cancer and lost the battle but I am just happy they are no longer in pain... but not many heard about that and that is what kinda bothered me.
But this is a quote part of something my friend was saying about how MJ was criticized before death and now after how it is everywhere you can't go any where without reading it or seeing it...
It's like David Bowie said "Put a bullet in my brain and it makes all the papers."
erm who?
I think I might have heard one thing mentioned about this guy on the radio...but it was when they were talking about Farrah Fawcett being overshadowed by MJ's death. And when the presenter mentioned this guy too most people said Uh...who?
Sorry, but he might be big in America but MJ was worldwide. And was one of those eccentric celebs that you can never quite dislike completely 100%
Nowadays, war heroes aren't as praised as they were. Also, not everyone is American in Subeta, so, some members come from countries that almost don't talk about WWII in their History class, let alone talk about an American hero (no, seriously, the only things I learned were that Hitler = evil, Germany, Italy and Japan were the Axis, and that Brazilians shouldn't enter wars because they suck at it).
But everyone, in the whole world, heard about Michael Jackson; and many heard about Farrah Fawcett, too, even if just in a Johnny Bravo episode (not making this up, there are people like that in the world).
So, although I like your homage, your point isn't really valid, unless you're trying to only scold people that are from USA and should learn more about their war heroes. Then, your point is, indeed, valid.

Meh, so what is this...each time someone dies you're going to demand a tribute item? come on :/ its nice to get what we do.
And asking for an Ed tribute is any better how? :c
Ed McMahon died a couple of days AT LEAST before Michael Jackson, not the day after.
