My cat, Ebay, is being friendlier than usual.

She's been laying on my bed with me for hours, and she keeps meowing at me. She also keeps coming over while I'm trying to do something on the computer and licking my hand.

I love her being nice, but I'm freaked out because my friend said her cat got real friendly right before she passed away.

Ugh.

I luff my spoiled rotten kitteh =(

Maybe you should take her to the vet's to be on the safe side? She could just be being friendly just for the heck of it. Some animals are cute that way. I'm no pet expert, but really, if you worry, you're better safe than sorry. =/

SOME pets seem to get friendlier as they age... is she an older cat?

She could just be pms-ing, and wanting some extra attention.

I don't think she is going to die. Cats get hormonal too :)

As has been stated, some cats become more affectionate when they become older. It's not necessarily a bad sign.

It was a real sudden thing. She used to crawl up on my bed with me, but the second I'd move, she'd take off. She actually lets me pet her and she doesn't budge.

I hope it's her finally getting friendly and not something else.

She's only seven years old, by the way.

our 1 year old cat is the same way everytime she is in her mating-period... she is all attention sick and mewls if we don't give her attention.. I'm sure if she had her will we'd all be dotting over her at that time...

I have a six year old cat that started doing the same thing (well, nix the licking) just a week ago. She is in perfect health.

Suddenly, she comes onto my bed, and requests some attention. Now its a daily thing.

Cats are creatures of habit, and they change them very easily. A cat can have a ritual one day and decide that the next day there is a more appropriate time for it. -shrugs-

Your cat is unlikely to be dying, and unless you see signs of serious illness, I wouldn't hoist her off to a miserable visit to the vet, unless of course you DO want your cat to no longer be friendly with you for a few days. :P

Seriously, don't worry. She loves you enough to want to get attention from you. Relish it before you become her beating bag once more. :P

Lol, okay.

I love her being friendly. I call her and she actually comes to me. The last time she did that was when she was a kitten.

I was hoping she'd turn friendly.

She turned friendly for a couple weeks, and now she's in heat.

Wonderful.
