Okay so it's not terrible. Don't worry, I was only being emo in my title :P

My life's not bad, save for one thing. I am bored. Terribly, terribly bored. And it's driving me completely bonkers. I've got a really short attention span; it's a child-like quality I've just never been able to grow out of. So, because of this, I'll find hobbies to do but I will get bored of them within days, sometimes even hours.

So I came up with an idea. You, the CC, can help me to find some hobbies that I might actually enjoy for more than a couple of days/weeks! You don't have to do much. Just list your own hobbies/interests and things that you think might be great boredom killers. I will have a look and see if I can find anything that jumps out at me. List every hobby of yours you can think of. Because the hobbies that come from my OWN head don't seem to come into any kind of fruition. Which is weird, I know. You'd think the hobbies I thought up myself I'd actually enjoy.

Art is something I do a lot of the time, and writing, but you need a good attention span for both of those.

Tennis might be good, if you're up for that, because you can play a game, finish up, and then go back and do it again the next day. I love tennis. :3 Horse-riding might be good, too, because you can see new places and so on, but you could be scared of horses, I don't know.

I have the same problem. I go through a phase of doing something for a few weeks then its boring and I never do it again. Therefore I have loads of stuff that I've bought for my past "hobbies" and kept them coz I thought I might get back into it again. But I never do so I've started having a clearout. But can only do small parts at a time of that, coz of my short attention span

There's few things that I actually get addicted to, and most of them aren't hobbies so much as video games... lol. So far, art, reading and guitar have become the things that occupy my time the most, other than work. Although I do plan on starting a garden, so that might end up consuming my time as well. I'm impatient and I'm someone that needs results almost immediately, so it's surprising that I have so much patience for art and guitar. I remember that in the past I've also attempted to learn languages which would keep me busy for about an hour a day while I practiced the Cyrillic alphabet.

I'm quite good at art and writing but you're right. You need an attention span. There are times when I can write and draw really well and I can do it for months and months. But then I get into a rut and I end up taking a year out. Which is what I've been doing right now. I'd love to start writing again...

Tennis sounds like a good idea. I've always liked the idea of tennis. Might give that a go. Good oppurtunity to lose this bit of extra weight I'm carrying as well. I have tried playing guitar already. I really love bass guitars and wanted to play one, but I couldn't get into it.

One thing I'm really interested in is fashion. I enjoy designing clothes but I can't actually make them. I'm wondering if maybe going on a textile course would be alright. I'd love to make my own clothes :)

Thank you for all the ideas guys! BTW, I toally feel your pain, bluelightning. It is so sucky to have a short attention span! You WANT to do something but you just CAN'T get motivated. It sounds so good when you think of these ideas but then it just...becomes so boring. It's irritating.
