Yeah, I've been there a couple of times, and I've actually posted there with the understanding of the OP's point of view in mind, but what I don't understand is why people thing that debates=whoring your opinion out and saying that everyone else is wrong.
Maybe it's just me who's run into this, but it's extremely hard to have a good, decent debate when the other person doesn't even want to see things from your views. I understand that some things just ARE, but when people there try to just make themselves seem right and everyone else ignorant fools...well, it's just annoying.
Has anyone else noticed the decreasing quality of the debates, or am I just not picking he appropriate ones to look at?

I guess I can see how it would be frustrating if people aren't wiling to take in your POV, but a lot of times, people who are incredibly opinionated and argumentative won't take in your views.
I think it's just the way people are. .-. I'm sure some people out there listen.
That's why I never go into the debate forums. It gets too heated in there. I can see why it happens a lot, though. There are different opinions coming in all directions and of course, people ARE going to want to defend their own opinions. It's when people sink really low and start hurling personal insults that gets me. I don't think I'll ever stay in that forum to be honest.
that's actually what got me started on this rant. It's not exactly difficult to get under my skin, and I try to be civil even when people aren't being civil towards me, but I think it's a bit rude for users to sink as low as calling people names or sifting them into a category. Especially when it's the OP that's doing it. OTL. I mean, I understand that there will be opinionated people, I guess I just don't understand why they can't even try to say 'I can see things from your point of view but...' when I can. o.o XD I dunno, maybe this is just unfair since I'm just irritated with the whole debate forum in it's entirety right now. I used to love it, but now it's just getting frustrating, and I should probably just stay away. :| Even if I love to civilly debate.
I would think that the point of a debate would be to have a friendly and intelligent conversation on a chosen topic and you can banter about it and whatnot.
Sure, people are opinionated but it is a debate forum and you can't just shut everything everyone else says OUT! x: Good thing i don't go to those forums, I hear too many bad things.

Lol. I once considered going there 'cause I'm an opinionated person, but I like listening to other peoples' views. Lately, I've been hearing more complaints about the Debate forum. Now, I wouldn't set foot in there even if you paid me £1,000,000,000. :/
I think the problem is that there are newbie's joining the site just to troll. -_-
The problem is the debate forum is limited to people that can hold intelligent conversations. :)
Even in real life you're going to find these people. I don't even read the debate forum. I have my own opinions about things and don't really care to inform subeta of them.
