Okay, ponder this for a moment. In the pokemon universe there are no normal animals only pokemon. And in the show you see the trainers eating meat and giving their pokemon some also. So... they are eating the pets. And making their pokemon cannibals.
Perhaps controlling population?
What are your guys opinion on this?
hmmm.... yeah.
aren't you surprised PETA hasn't gotten in the middle of this?
little creatures fighting each other 'til they pass out.
owell, i love it all the same
contemplates what takes place of chicken there.
poor spearow. :(
I bet they slaughter Miltanks, and the Porygons double as microwaves and cook them. :o
Let's imagine it... "I CHOOSE YOU...CHICKEN FRIED MILTANK!"
The Charmanders can cook themselves
Yeah, where was PETA in all of this lol.
Isn't cannibalism when you eat others of the same species? :/ Pokemon isn't' a species, there are species of pokemon.
But it makes sense that they eat pokemon for meat if pokemon are their animals. xD
It's probably ok if you don't eat the ones that talk I think:) Or the cute ones, don't eat the cute ones.

I have no idea. Have you ever thought it could be people? B]
Or perhaps they also raise domestic animals in the world along with the Pokemon.
Maybe they eat the ones that lose, thus the point of the battles.
"You win Pikachu or you'll starve!!!"
Eh... maybe Tauros get butchered? I mean, there are massive herds of them whenever there's a scene with a farm of some sort.

>___<;; I'm never going to veiw that show the same way again. pictures Ash eating pikachu TT^TT

I read in a Pokedex entry that Mew was from South America. o_O So, I assume that since the normal continents exist, perhaps normal animals do as well?
I... never really gave a second thought as to what they ate in Pokemon.
They have Watmels! I realized all the berries are fruit and berry based. Kelpsey/y berries are kelp, or seaweed. Cheri is cherry. Iapapa berries are papaya. odd, no?
I used to ask myself that question. SOME pokemon, they do eat- I remember in an episode, Jesse and James were on a raft drifing at sea, and tried eating a magiccarp(sp). XD Needless to say, it didn't work. However, in some shots in movies, eps, ect. you can find normal animals. It is somewhat rare, however. I know the contenents are the same (such as someone said, Mew from South America), but they have normally different countries. (I say noramlly, because the electic pokemon gym leader in Kanto is American, apperently.)
Overall, I guess it might be something the world may never know. XD
Isn't tomato tamato or something in pokemon? Its a berry, and its supposed to be spicy :/
There was a mention in some episode of the anime, I don't remember which, that pidgey eat caterpie. Which makes sense, I guess, considering... XD
We can't say that there are no normal animals; I've seen normal fish on the show, for example. Plus they have crazy technology so they could probably genetically engineer meat (you've got to figure Pokemon PETA has to be more intense and influential than we could imagine.)
Still- miltank burgers, omnomnom.
I vaguely remember them feeding their pokemon 'pokefood' or something like that. I think it resembled something like dog food/pellets. Correct me if i'm wrong. o_O;
