Yep. And I'm extremely picky.
Things I hate: SPORTS MANGA, cheesy shoujo, shounen with constant battles and no real plot, mediocre or worse art.
Things I love: Action, Romance that does not involve some absurd power is sexual dominance thing, Comedy, Mystery, General Win.
Manga that I am currently reading, or have completed: 1/2 Prince(1/2 Ouji) 666 Satan Anatolia Story Bakuman Bitter Virgin Bleach Claymore Death Note Ouran High Host Club Love Monster Naruto Samurai X Perfect Girl Evolution Sekirei Special A Ubel Blatt Vagabond
DO NOT WANT: Air Gear (NO COMPRENDO) Berserk Boboboboboboooo...bo..bobobo? Case Closed Code Geass (Anime is better.) Fruits Basket Fairy Tale One Piece Full Metal Anything (Anime is better.) Hana to Akuma (PEDOPHILIA) Hayate the Combat Butler (It's funny as hell but the art is just so awful.) Inuyasha (Is not my bishie.) Prince of Tennis (It's fucking tennis.) Rosario + Vampire Vampire Knight Skip Beat
Valkyria Chronicles , Darker than Black , D.gray man , Bleach , Law of Ueki and Soul Eater :P
Karneval is my current manga obsession. c: The art is simply GORGEOUS, I loveloveLOVE the plot, and the characters are so kdfdfg. XD I'd certainly recommend it to anyone!
The only downside is that it seems to rarely update. ): Which...sucks hardcore, lmao. If you really wanted to though you could find raws and translations on its livejournal community.
Another one that you miiiight like is The World God Only Knows. It's funny, and is pretty much made up of a bunch of little arcs. I wasn't sure of it at first because of the art, but it gets a LOT better later on, and it updates really frequently!
I hope you find something to read! I know how much it sucks to not have any new manga. D8
I am currently readingMedaka Box It's a Shounen, with a bit of ecchi. (Nothing serious though) I think the art is wonderful and it's pretty funny at times too.
ALSO MOMOTAMA Another Shounen, and again very humorous. I think the art is wonderful too. This is based off the Japanese folk tale Momotaro, with an extreme twist.
ArisuChan suggested Darker than black manga, but I say it's not that good (the same as Code Geass - nice anime, boring manga), but that is my opinion. Since I'm a fan of Kaori Yuki works I would suggest Ludwig Kakumei. The Grim's fairytales are retold in a really different way. It's really original work and comedy. For a really nice drama Boy's Next Door by the same author, BUT it has shonen-ai motive. If you are not absolutely disgusted of such things, you can give the manga a try (it's one shot). My last suggestions is Count Cain (or God's child as it's licensed in US). The first volume has some funny art, but in the next it's just-to-fall-in-love with.
