okay, i know fanfics aren't exactly POPULAR AND AMAZING /sparkle, but like, i was bored, suffering from writer's block, and just played kingdom hearts. D:

this will make much more sense if you know what KH is. XD

“Naminé…thank you.”

She showed off her brightest smile, eyes shut--that way he couldn’t see the tears--and walked him to the crystal pod. A shudder ran through her body at his touch--

“I’ll remember you. We’ll be friends. I promise.”

--and all she did was continue to grin and grin and replay the way he said her name over and over until his bright blue eyes shut and the boy who knew her for those few moments was gone.

And then she was painting; brush stroking at each memory. Tainting the golden hues until they bled cranberry red - until her name was crossed out, replaced…

All the while, almost silent, muffled sobbing--

It was only a slight twitch, but Naminé instantly brightened, she knew soon enough she’d be looking into those light cyan pools. Stepping towards the transparent encasement, the flutter in her stomach was ignored. Of course Sora would remember.

The boy had a big heart, there was definitely enough space for someone as small and insignificant as herself. Wasn’t there?

Before the blonde girl knew it, her mind was chanting don’t forget, don’t forget, don’t forget.

His lips were soon moving -- gorgeous orbs blinking in recognition. She hastily ignored the confused ‘K’ sound he emitted because he remembered her. Sora had kept his promise; she knew he would--

Elated, Naminé opened the pod, anxiously awaiting for him to speak to her. She missed him - oh God she did!

Trudging out, his smile faded (she felt a pang), and the puzzled look his face adorned only grew. “Kai-no, wait. W-who are you?”

There was this girl, just standing there. He had just walked out of some sort of weird cocoon thing and he could’ve sworn he saw Kairi. But, no, it wasn’t her. It didn’t even look like her.

He asked her name, but it must have been a bad idea, because suddenly her face went soft and her pale hair was shielding her from him. She didn’t budge for a few minutes, and before he could press on, he realized there was a lopsided, almost sad smile playing on her lips.

“Naminé.”

There was a dead, hollow giggle, then a dainty hand held out to assist him in getting out of the pod.

FanFiction is awesome! And don't let people tell you otherwise. However, I do not know anything about Kingdom Hearts.

One, I don't know the KH fandom. Two, fanfiction is amazing and the writing on there is far better than a whole lot of the crap out there today. -couchtwilightcough-

Also, is the '-' a scene break? If it is, and the italicized portion is a flashback you don't need it. (Italics as flashback/thinking is almost universaly accepted.)

don't let anyone tell you that fanfiction is bad. ever gone to a book store? there are HUNDREDs of fanfiction for things like star wars, star trek, fantasy novels, all sorts of things and people BUY them. fanfiction is a great thing!
