GS Coliseum. A well-known place of action, danger, and even death. Stored away in the dungeons below are monsters, per se, creatures known as Pokemon. They are quite strong, and at this point in time, only a select few are able to contain them. They are known as Pokemon Tamers, and they are slaves to the owners of the Coliseum.
Thrown into the coliseum with these wild ruthless pokemon, are Gladiators; and maybe the occasional thief or fugitive, while some enter for money. Basically, their goal is to simply well, not die. Making the enemy faint is just a bonus.
Well, the supposed famous coliseum seems to be stuck in the rut, and they are being quickly drained of their gold; on the brink of coming to an end. What do they do about it? Well, though the Pokemon Tamers seem to be mere slaves, they do get paid.
Not anymore, they don't.
Instead, they've all been tossed into the coliseum, all at the same time, and they have released all the pokemon they've kept enslaved in the dungeons; calling it an exclusive battle to the death with the Pokemon versus Pokemon Tamers, hoping this would grab everyone's attention to save their Coliseum from bankruptcy.

Just a thought. :] The time is way back in the Roman days, with Gladiators and Coliseums, and well, Sparta, basically. o3o -cough- sorry I had to say that to better explain?
Pokemon are referred to as uncontrollable monsters; while there are only a small amount of people who can actually tame them.
Anyways, the plot didn't go as I expected (what with the bankruptcy), but it was the only thing I could think of to make it work.
Basically, it's humans versus pokemon. How does it sound? I myself think it needs a little work.

Niiice. ^^ I like the sound of it, it's quite a unique plot. I'd definately be interested in it.
