You'll need to bleach it. Going to a salon is probably your best bet.
I got your back Jack, bitches be crazy.
I suggest a salon. It may take two visits. I tried going blonde from dark at home, and I've always gotten brassy. I don't suggest Clariol, if you are going to stick with at-home.
Okay, then I highly recommend Loreal's Feria. It seems to be the strongest drug store hair dye in my opinion. I also suggest a very very good moisturizing conditioner.
Mmm. Bleaching it at home really isn't the best idea ;x Considering your hair is dark brown, there's a pretty good chance it'll turn orange/get fried.
bleached, but i wouldn't if i were you. your hair gets repulsive.
Try picking up a highlighting kit or something. One of the ones you mix up yourself, with powder - should be blue coloured. They usually work best.
BUT. As everyone else said, going from dark to light is very very hard to do! You'll get to a stage of being blonde, where you can't seem to go any lighter, and will most likely hate it :(.
Saving up to go to a Salon may be worth it in the end ❤️.
Manic Panic sells an extreme bleaching kit. I've heard great reviews, but never tried it on myself.
Depending on what you want, you may need to dye multiple times at home.
Whatever you do, SPACE EACH BLEACHING OUT BY AT LEAST A WEEK, or else your hair will turn to straw or fall out. Also pamper your hair a little and get really nice shampoo and conditioner. Preferably some super moisturizing/healing leave-in conditioner.
I know you can do this yourself at home, but it will take a lot of care. I'm sure you can google a couple guides and they'll suggest what product to buy and how to get the best results.
IRL, I'm a chick. Who has dyed her hair a bajillionty times. From black to blonde, and a million other colors. Here's what you do:
Go to Sally's Beauty Supply if it's in your area. They're a supplier to salons but they also sell to the public. Tell the salesperson you want your hair to be blonde. They're going to sell you some bleach powerdy stuff and some goopy activator stuff. They'll also probably try to sell you some hair repair conditioner in a little packet- buy it, it's cheap and worth it. The power and activator combo can be mixed up to make a bleaching solution multiple times, if you need to do more than one bleaching. This stuff is made for salons and professional beauty people, so it works waaay better than anything you can buy in the grocery store.
Bleach is heat-sensitive, so start with your tips and do the roots last, because they'll get blonder than the rest of your hair if you don't time it right. Most of all, follow the instructions on the bottle and listen carefully to what the salespeople tell you.
