Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times is just like Animal Crossing, but with a magic school instead. It's quite cute.
Desperately seeking:
Valkyrie Profile Covenant of the Plume can be a good choice, if you like hard fights and abnormal powerful bosses. Some other good games are Lostmagic and Lunar Knights.

MARIO KART DS! if you have friend's with DS's it is reeeaaallyy fun. i hate racing games for the most part. i never got into them, but that really was fun. =)

I personally wouldn't recommend TWEWY, It's actually no where near as good as most people say, at least in my opinion.
I'm not sure it's your type, but Bowsers Inside Story is a great game, if you've like the Mario & Luigi RPG games.
