It started snowing the day before yesterday just before midnight and I didn't leave the house all day yesterday. I went out this morning to clear the snow and measured it and it's exactly a foot of snow! I am SO HAPPY. We haven't had a fall like this in so long. Too long. I love snow, everything about it...except driving in it.

I wasn't able to visit my friend a town over today like I was supposed to because the roads were awful...and she's pissed off at me. She doesn't drive, so when I tell her that I can't come over because the roads are unsafe, she doesn't really understand. I know damn well she has other people closer to help her get her groceries and cash her check and all that - she can't just rely on me only to do this for her, especially when I have to risk my life to do it. But that's the only bad thing about today.

I took my kitty outside and she loved it. Like, seriously loved it. She was hopping through the snow and batting it around with her paws and trying to eat it and rolling around it in and meowing the whole time. She's about two years old, but we haven't had this much snow in that time, so she's never really experienced it. I'm going to take her out again later because she loved it so much, lol.

Then, after Emma played in the snow, I had to go back outside and dig the trash bags and recycle boxes out of the snow that the snowplow shoved over them because the garbage truck was right down the road coming towards the house. Got them out and then plowed the driveway and sidewalks again because there was another two inches all over.

BUT LONG STORY SHORT, IT SNOWED A LOT AND I'M HAPPY!!!

[edit] AND GUESS WHAT. THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE ANOTHER FOOT OF SNOW TONIGHT! I am SO HAPPY. :D But a lot of people aren't. A lot of people are freaking out. I went to the grocery store today to pick up a few things and there were a million people there. I didn't get a cart because they ran out, the milk, eggs, and things like that were all but sold out, I had to park a ways away. DID I MISS SOMETHING? Is the apocalypse coming?! Because holy shit, guys, this is Michigan. We tend to get snow like this. You're supposed to be prepared. I understand buying one gallon of milk or a half pound of turkey or something, but people were stocking up on gallons and pounds of everything. Seriously? A foot of snow is not something to lose one's shit over...unless it's the good kind of losing your shit as in getting excited. Like me. XD

edit : Totally just spent an hour and a half outside in the snow making a snow shark. XD It's a great WHITE. Yeah, I'm lame, but it was so much fun. I don't remember the last time I actually made anything in the snow. We haven't had this much snow since I was much younger, so I'm kind of ridiculously excited about it...as you can probably tell by my previous statements above, lol. When I came inside, my jeans were caked with snow so I took them off...and my legs were bright red. Oops. Guess I almost gave myself frostbite. ^^;;

That's a lot of snow. It just started snowing here about an hour ago and we're supposed to get 4-6 inches tonight. I think there maybe more tomorrow. Regardless, I'm making a big pot of chili

I got the snow day call from work, so I've got a 3-day weekend. :)

One of my students gave me a belated Christmas gift which turned out to be a nice bottle of wine so I've got something to do in front of the fireplace tonight haha.

We're supposed to be getting a foot here over the next couple days, though it's kind of a bummer because I go back to work Sunday so I'll have to drive in it. I loved snow when I was a school girl, but now that I'm an adult with no vacations, it's a bit of a hassle. lol Still pretty though. :3

I love snow too. :) No snow for us yet this winter. Pretty much the whole of the UK has had loads of rain and wind. Lots of flooding. My garden is currently more flooded than boggy but that's just ground water so will just be a big puddle for a while. I don't live near any rivers thankfully. Hoping we get some snow in Jan or Feb. We don't usually get much though. Just a dusting. A few years ago it was knee deep. That was cool. :)

We've had about 2-3 feet of snow on the ground since the start of December here. It's nice but I'll enjoy watching it melt in a couple of months :)

1 foot of snow is supposed to equal an inch of rain. It is gorgeous to see it fall, but I hate driving when there's any. Had a BAD accident from black ice....
