I have no advice to give on the hat box. I have terrible luck with chance items. >.< Good luck if you decide to open it.

BD good luck! getting the high wardrobe acheivements made me buy alot of the main shop items... there are so many more items thats out there x_x; even if you don't ever plan to use it, buy it to horde xD who knows, one day you might use it +_+

and yeah... hat box will stay closed until some better wigs come out fingers crossed that the awesome wigs won't retire ><
