Not a permanent fix unless you switch browsers, but I believe in Chrome and Safari, you can drag the text box to make it larger. :)

I'm not willing to change browsers just to get a bigger input box since Firefox serves me just fine. D: It should definitely be made taller by default.

Maybe 100 pixels in height? It would be as tall as the forum reply box and would make it a lot easier to look over your post.
