Is it better to sell them or spend them in your opinion? I do a lot of wizard quests and the vending machines don't always seem worth it. Also, I can never get to the token shop at the right time. What do you guys do with them?

I just keep mine. If I somehow end up with low denomination tokens (less than 10) I throw them in my shop to add to my hoarding collection. Once I get those achievements (eventually), I'll take them back out and put them in my bank though.
When I do spend spend mine, I vend sometimes, but I usually use them in the Token Shop, and if I'm super lucky, I'll snag something from BHH. I play the carnival games every so often too. Most of my tokens sort of just sit there though, but it makes me feel good knowing that I have a large supply if I ever need them.
I just keep them accumulated in my currencies. That's how I got over 120k tokens :S
If you wanted to sell your tokens, I'd still advice you to keep around 300 tokens in your currencies just in case you DO catch a TS restock! :) You could join the TSRestock forum group, they'll ping you whenever there's something available in the Token Shop. The reason you can't make it to the shop in time is that you've only been a member for three days, and the Token Shop restocks very occasionally (like once every two months or something, different item(s) everytime).
I used to sell my tokens back when I started playing, they were an easy way to get sP. Nowadays I use mine for vending, because I'm going for the achievement. Items have become super cheap lately, though, because everyone is vending, so it's not very profitable. :/
I do the Wizard Quests every day if I can, and then get around 700 tokens, so I usually take out 500 to sell (usually earns me a quick mil) and then use whatever is left for vending and using the pet zapper. I know vending isn't very profitable anymore, but I usually take all I get and put it into my collections, wardrobe, and armory anyway.
