I just got a random event that gives you an amulet and I decided to give it to the mage chai who collects them. In return for the amulet he gave me a tome of death. I feel silly for not remembering this, but what exactly happens if you use this item on one of your pets?

According to the Stat booster guide, it will increase 1-3 of each of your pet's stat.
