I was thinking that there should also be a "Mail user" link on each of the friends on the list. It would make things a bit easier I think.

There is a comment user so mailing them would be nice too =)

Agreed this might be nice, though it is easy to just type a username in the mailbox, it could be useful if you have friends with hard to spell usernames etc :)
