So I'm sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office, about to get my blood drawn. :( I absolutely hate getting this done. Anyone have any doctor's stories? Recent or not, I'd love to hear.

I simply avoid drs like the plague X_x I'm petrified of needles. Yet have to have a TB test next year so my mom promised to hold my hand through the test....note I'm 25 years old so take from that what thou wilt
Ah... Last time I had to get blood drawn, I woke up on the floor of the room I'd been in...
I hope it's over quickly and problem free for you. :(

I had to get my blood drawn a few times. I'm not afraid of needles though, they don't bother me at all. It just doesn't feel pleasant when the nurse sometimes presses down when taking the bottle out.
I've honestly have had blood drawn from me so many times that I don't actually feel the needle that much anymore. In between monthly tests, hospital stays, IVs, and more tests, I got really used to the feeling. Still, it's definitely not pleasant. I still hate going down to the clinic to get my blood samples done. Hopefully it wasn't too bad for you :)
Ugh, I wish I could avoid doctors. With the problems I have now, it's mandatory.
Oh goodness, that sounds horrible. How in the world did that happen? It was okay for me. I have an extreme headache and some lightheadedness, but it's happened before.
They're always bearable, and this time around it wasn't as "bad" as the others. I still hate getting blood drawn, nevertheless. I'm so paranoid about bending my arm afterwards that I just keep it stiff for like... two days. xD The first time I ever had an IV, I was begging and crying for them to take it out because of how intense the burn was. I was lucky the last time I went to the hospital they didn't give me one. But yes, definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it out to be. :)

When I nearly blacked out and had to get bloodwork done because my nearly blacking out was so out of the norm, I had to go up to the pediatrics center at Hershey. (I was 17.) I had a nurse there who was so skilled with doing bloodwork, I never felt the needle.
I've had so much bloodwork done now, I don't even notice really unless I get some klutz of a nurse. I still don't like it though. XD

I remember when I was younger and it would take like three-four nurses to hold me down haha. But then I got sick with my gallbladder years ago and I had to get use to getting my blood taken and ivs. One thing I will forever hate and struggle with though is shots. People say it's the same thing but it's not, because the pressure and whatnot makes my arm hurt for weeks afterwards. ): No thank youu.
I have a sever issue with seeing my own blood. Any one else is fine, but mine... I need it to stay in my body. A metal spike being push just under my skin tends to make me go white as a ghost and pass out. It's been an issue coupled to my extreme low blood pressure since I was very little. To the point where at times, I have my blood pressure taken and startle nurses at how low it is. Chuckles Which is actually more amusing to me than anything.

Glad to hear it! I remember my first surgery when I was about 8...it took five nurses to try to get the IV. In the end, I was so jittery that they actually had to put me to sleep to put it in lol I really hate IVs beyond anything else in the medical world. They always make my veins pop and I get bruises on my arms for weeks x_x
My veins are more than shitty but nonetheless I used not to care about getting my blood drawn because it gets done to me quite often. Then one day I began to feel dizzy and immediately told the doctor - she just said it would be over soon and kept going what my body answered with a blackout and a seizure. It must have been a pretty scary show because the doc even called the ambulance and sent me to hospital to let them check if I'd suffer from epilepsy. Since that day I have a phobia you can say, I nearly die of stress each time I get my blood drawn even though the bad incident is about fifteen years ago... -_-
I'm perfectly okay getting my blood drawn as long as I don't see the needle or watch the entire process. IVs are no problem either. I also got used to sleeping whenever I had MRIs done since it was a pretty frequent thing for me at one time.
The first time I got my blood taken I was really young, probably about 8 or 9 and I was super nervous. So the person who is doing it comes in the room and I'm with my mom etc etc etc so she goes to put the needle in and then once it's in, she realises it's in the wrong spot, so she tries to take it out but it gets stuck in my arm instead... Finally she ended up getting it out and doing it properly but it was definitely painful and terrifying at the time :/

I was just at the doctor's office Monday. I had to get a booster for my birth control shot. I hate needles, but the nurse there is really good at keeping me distracted while she jabs me with the needle. They usually draw blood a few times a year to make sure things are ok. Last time they drew blood, the little rubber tube the connects from the needle to the tube thing broke at the end connected to the tube and they got blood all over the table. x_X Luckily they were able to leave the needle in and change the tube.
Yick, needles. :c There was a point in time where I was in and out of hospitals and emergency rooms quite frequently, so I got pretty used to getting IVs, so needles don't bother me as much anymore. Still not fun by any means and I'd rather [i]not[i] have to be jabbed. 8(
(That title, ehehehe...) I got my blood drawn just recently too, but I rather enjoyed it actually! I guess being a masochist can be useful sometimes :p
You can do it! It doesn't hurt at all. I like to just keep a conversation with the doctor and tell him to just do it when he wants, then I'm not expecting it. It's neat to watch it go into the vial (but if you're squeamish, don't!)
I was coming out of anesthesia and confused my male doctor for my mom. He was not amused, but she sure was.
I really really dislike going to the doctor, and getting blood drawn is especially terrible. I faint almost every time it happens i'm such a crybaby ;____ ; Recently I had some complications with pregnancy and such, and i had to get my blood tested every two days for about two weeks. It was awful and I never want to see another needle again.
