I'd love if the name of who sent an item stayed linked with the actual wrapped gift somehow, instead of having to match it to the event. I know it's easier to sort and figure out who sent what, now that there are so many more colors, but on birthdays and holidays it can still be a bit tricky!

Yes, please. Even if it only showed the name after you opened the gift (under the item).
