I would let your landlord know. They should be able to do something about it, and I would think that they would want to know before it spreads and turns into a huge issue.

Tell your landlord and let them deal with it. I've also heard about using vinegar and bleach but I don't know if it really works or not! And my bathroom gets black mold like nothing else. Even the shower head. It's gross.

Definitely. But it's scary because it can affect your health if it's not taken care of. It's scary stuff.

Try to make the place less damp by opening windows, making it warmer, being careful of leaving anything liquid in your room or drying clothes in there. That will help prevent it growing at least.

I've had mould in rooms before, mostly because they were very well insulated and I had wet clothes drying... never really caused me any problems, and it was only small amount around windows and such. Went away when I reduced the humidity and physically removed it.

Look into your local housing standards laws and if you have any near by offices to report these things to. Even a health department call can help since it -IS- a health concern. Just let them know you saw it, notified your landlord who did nothing to help. Typically when mold is found in a building figuring out what kind and how harmful it can be is the first step.

Take pictures of it and write down any time you call the land lord seeking help. Or even calls to offices like a health department or a place that may know the housing standard laws. Write down what was said/ suggested to do. All of if, it's more to help YOU over anything else.

Pretty much I'm sure in ANY part of the developed world the mere basics of a building to be able to be deemed worth living in is it has to have running hot water, free of mold and in good repair against the elements. But like I said search online or find out where you can call for this info. Also look up the responsibilities of a land lord in this situation. Pose it as if YOU were the land lord with a tenant coming to you with the issue. What would you have to do as the land lord and then report yours for not doing what they need.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
