Right, I please zee drooms

And as of late my snare has been sounding off, normally It has that nice R-r-r-r-r-r thrum thing. But its not doing that anymore? I've messed around with tightness but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Any fellow drummers out there know a fix for this? I'm new, and its already throwing me off.
