I successfully snuck a new iTouch 5 into the house, unknown to my Dad.

A couple days ago, I went out on the pretense of getting Woolite (which is this laundry soap) after Mom and I pooled our resources. Dad wasn't sure why I was going all the way out to get just Woolite but I went. Mom got him out of the house too for a bit so I could sneak the iTouch into the house without him ever knowing.

I got the last black iTouch 5 at the store, a case and $30 worth of iTunes cards since I don't know Dad's Apple account info to gift him that way.

I wrapped the iTunes cards up with one of his other gifts, which he was completely clueless about. Then the case got wrapped up by itself and I told Dad, "I think it maaay be a bit too big for your current iTouch." He gave me the most confused look I think I've ever gotten from him, like, oh no, she got the wrong case. XD

I then told him that there's something else it went to and handed him the little package with the new iTouch in. Dad's looking at me like I've lost my mind, Mom's grinning like a mad woman and I can't stop giggling. He got the wrapping paper off, just blinked and promptly teared up. His older iTouch is one of the first generation ones that he got several years ago in California, it's been dying slowly for a while now and it's been buggy too and I couldn't let my tech-savvy Dad go without his iTouch.

This is why I work. -v-

So, what did you guys manage to surprise your loved ones with this Christmas? (Dad's across from me, trying to figure out Siri, lmao.)

Aww that was cute to read, what a luck that you were able to get it without him noticing it, gifts that are a real surprise are the best!

Awww! My dad is really hard to shop for sdfrgtrt. He's not tech savvy at all, and usually brings back whatever clothes we get him XD

Awesome gift :)

My Dad's normally the same way in the sense of really being hard to shop for but the iTouch turned out to be a stroke of genius if I do say so myself.

c:

I had so much fun with sneaking around with that iTouch, lmao.

My mother in law's a wonderful woman but she wouldn't tell us anything that she wanted this year no matter how we tried to get her to spill. We suggested previous things we'd done years before (gift certs to places she likes, or to fabric shops) but she didn't seem very interested in that this year. She didn't want anything new for her room, or clothing or ANYTHING. Well, last week on wednesday she shows me a catalog from her latest bus trip (she's a driver for a touring company) and this necklace she really liked, asking me to look it up online and find out how much so she could pick one up next time she's out that way. I looked and told her they were between $130-$150 and she whistled and said she'd just have to keep enjoying it in the catalog instead. Of course, the moment she left the room I was bookmarking the site, setting up an ordering account and texting the husband we'd FINALLY found something she wanted. One quick order, rush delivery and we had the necklace by friday, so glad we could have something under the tree for her. She was utterly shocked when she unwrapped it this morning and though she protested we'd spent too much we could tell she was really touched.

As a bonus, it was the first part of our plan to replace at least in spirit the silver and turquoise jewelry collection that had been stolen from her some years back.

Nicely done! Sneakiness is part of the fun of giving, I think. xD

I somehow surprised everyone with my gifts this year. This is the first year I've bought presents for everyone else, since I finally have a bit of money and driver's license now.

I don't know how they didn't suspect :P I had to call them from the store parking lot because the car wasn't working. I told them I was at the store, so that's one hint. Then that same night after I got back home, I had to run out of the house while they were out on the back patio to get to the car to open the trunk with the presents. The front door is loud and I forgot to be quiet on the way in (I remembered on the way out, though). I ran to hide the presents in the cabinet in the hallway, and right after I shoved them in, they asked me if I went outside, I said I was just making sure the door was shut and they believed me.

I then had to put a rubber band on the cabinet handles so that the cat wouldn't open it and reveal everything that was in there (for some reason he loves to check the cabinets whenever we put things in/out :P)

The next morning they went out back again (they're smokers, so they go out there a lot) and I got the gifts out of the cabinet and tossed them in my closet, which is much safer (I couldn't throw them in my closet last night because I share my room with my brother and he was sleeping). Then the next time they went out, I went into their closet and grabbed the wrapping paper, and sneaked out into the living room to grab the scotch tape. I turned on some music so that they couldn't hear me wrapping their gifts.

I kept the gifts in my closet until today c: It feels very nice to give them something for a change.
