Title says it all. The image was taken from my iPad right after we got home and set up the cage and everything.
She doesn't have a name yet, since we just got her today though. Originally, I was going to name her Ghiradelli after the chocolate, except since I think she's a girl maybe that's a bit too male-ish?
So pretty! But who doesn't love Ghiradelli? You could always call her Godiva. :D
How can you even tell if it's a girl or a boy? My mom used to have lots of those birds and none of them had a name. We lived in a kind of places where all the backyards where only divided by a small wall so they got stolen :(

Aww she's cute, I wish her a long and healthy life! =D
P.S.: Her coloration is similar to the coloration of my "Charles Vogel" aka Charly, haha.
, didn't even think of Godiva. That's actually a really cute name!
The little thing right above their beak...it changes color depending on what sex it is.
blue, full pink-male tan/brown- mostly white-pink-female
and we got a second bird

Anyway, the pet store said they were getting pretty much all males from the breeder so, looks like they're both males. XD I initially thought the cere( thing above beak) on the blue one was more tannish, but looks like I was wrong.. since I took a picture to the pet store to confirm and their bird guy said blue guy was male.
As for names..: right now: blue=Ghiradelli and the green one I've been debating between Kiwi or Lemon?
So, which one sounds better?
Oh, that makes sort of sense. And Kiwi sounds so much better to my point of view 😊

Budgies! My cats would eat any birds, sadly. I grew up with canaries; my mom raised them & we went to bird shows in the fall every year.
My dad apparently used to catch wild birds when he was a kid and keep them as pets, but he lived in countryside Taiwan. I'm not sure how much that'd fly here. XD
He actually wanted a canary, but didn't see any particular places that had any for sale though.
My mom was the bird lady in our neighborhood, & everyone knew it. So injured wild birds were brought to her, & we cared for them. I had a sparrow for 10 years. He used to like to pull my hair, I'd let it slip through the bars of the cage & he'd grab it. I know he lived far longer than any wild sparrow...
